Alright, i have done the mental health analysis on our dear twappi. Everyone has been dooming on twappi but there is a clear explanation: Bora.
Everyone seems to forget just how long Towa really got to know Bora, and the answer is: roughly 5 months. 5 months is not a long time. Yet despite this short time frame, both Towa and Bora seemed to be very close with each other, to the point where they would regularly talk with each other over LINE and Towa would teach Bora some weird gyaru speak. Also phone sex. But this sort of relationship is likely what people might consider as "soulmates." To lose a soulmate can take months for people to grieve properly, and its likely that Towa basically froze her grief throughout December until she broke at the end of the year. VSaikyou probably brought back some of that trauma, especially since her team composition bore many resemblances to Yumekyawa Purple. Unless Bora comes back or Towa manages to have more time to grieve properly (like she was able to grieve for Sio at the end of 2020), she'll probably be troubled for at least some time to come. I doubt she is going to go anywhere but unless she finds a new soulmate to make up for Bora she'll likely have mental mental issues for some time.

From aqua and suisei perspective, they are trying to help towa and mutually benefit from it. Not having a male coach can lower expectation of the team and makes their participation more casual. It also keeps the unicorn drama fags away. Aqua just finished her very popular apex master run and suisei came off the hype of her 3d live as well as the performance with towa during holofes. Just 3 of them participating in the event together will give a great boost for towa channel. Towa simply just have the habit of looking too hard at the potential downside and failure (when overall, the upside is probably outweighs the downside even at the worst tournament result possible) and stress herself out.

It's not even about immediate numberfagging. It's simply about long term success of the overall career. Aqua and Suisei currently have a lot of sway in the scene. I would say the effect can be felt by the Vspo side of thing as well and might extend the life of the scene in the future as well.
There were upside and downside of having a male coach or not and potential stress either result can cause. There's stress specifically involved playing under a coach. It doesn't exactly allow you to turn your brain off and just don't take any responsibility.

I don't think numbers have ever been a consideration for Towa for the tournaments. They're just something she likes doing, for fun. Adding numbers to it did nothing but make it worse. As for "long term success," Towa was growing just fine on her own.
Coach or not, all the antis see and as a result all that Towa sees is that it was her responsibility to guide the other two through their first tournament, and she completely failed. There was absolutely no possibility she could have done this while IGLing for the first time without any guidance, but everyone will blame her for it anyway.
