At the time when Towa met Sio, Sio was a rising mahjong + variety game indie vtuber. She was a reincarnate of a .LIVE vtuber that had quit due to complaining about the management not being willing/able to support her activities and was acting as a very successful indie, with average viewers of something between 3k-5k back then (which was a lot). She would later have for a time the largest superchat by an indie during her 3D debut, which is where her huge ass came from. By comparison, Towa was a 3-view at that time. This wasn't Sio's first interaction with Hololive, she had earlier done a collab with Pekora in mahjong (which is excellent content if one wants to view it) for instance.
Towa was clearly nervous about the collab as it was mahjong (with Fubuki and Ran) so she had rurudo teach her how to play mahjong. The day of the collab passed by relatively uneventfully, but curiously Towa and Sio seemed to get rather close.
Up until this collab, Towa was mostly a solo streamer. She had very few collabs, doing only really a Kanata collab, an Aki collab, and a Choco/Riri collab along with some Roboco collabs. This was because she blamed herself for having her "yab" ruin other peoples' collabs and so would refuse collabs because she felt like she was a burden on the other collab members, or alternatively just be straight up ignored due to various reasons (ex. inkya Aqua).

After meeting Sio, Towa suddenly started having a lot more collabs. For instance shortly after she had an Apex collab with Sio and Okayu, and then a Valorant collab with Roboco, Sio, Nose, and Ran. She also had numerous Apex collabs with Sio (some guerilla), where she had some heart to heart conversations about being spoiled princesses and some light flirting/sehara with her. It was also around the time that the trio of Towa-Sio-Nose, or the famed "TOKONOKISE" came about It seemed like Towa was starting to come out of her shell and collab more and more, thanks to her interactions with Sio.
But it all came to an end after the infamous Sio yab, whereafter she disappeared from the world of vtubing. Towa was alone again, and did a bunch of solo streams after without saying a word about what had happened. But she then did another collab with Nose, and started resuming collabing with all the collab partners she had previously been introduced to, as well as some new ones too (Pekora, Suisei). This eventually led to her organizing the first Amongus collabs, which was what propelled her into being the collab monster that she is today. But that wasn't the last we heard of Sio's influence, but without disclosing memba content, we know that even by the end of 2020, Towa was still thinking of Sio and hoped that she was innocent and could come back one day.

I think to entirely cover how Towa became a collab powerhouse, you got to highlight that one Marine collab that also helped Towa tremendously. More people (especially JOPs) really realized how dorky Towa is in collabs. Before this point, most of Towa streams have always been a 50%-60% English chat, and some minecraft stream even have upwards to 80% english chat.

Towa was really unkown in Hololive JP fans because of how reserved she is in initiating collabs, and most of her collabs are very formal with Fubuki and Roboco mostly (Fubuki is also one of the pillars that defended whatever yab that happened to Hololive), and this includes Towa. She also provided some senpai support.

But ever since the Marine collab, her popularity really skyrocketed and it was on a positive incline every day. Then comes the first Among Us collab, where she really taught the mechanics to others in very detailed slides that really shined her opinions among JOP. (note, during the early Among Us collab among Japanese players, there have been drama of using Japanese Language Mod that stirred a bit of issue of "permissions", thankfully, Towa dodged this by asking everyone to play in English).
