Ok this is completely out of my ass info, but I think for EN at least, they focused more on hiring girls to be a "unit" rather than going for strong talents across the board. Meaning each of them is specialized in something that she can help her genmates with (like art, audio / tech stuff, language/translation etc). This maybe worked for myth because of the circumstances at the time of their debut, but council showed that hiring that way just gets you mediocre talent and/or a lot of deadweight. I will now take my meds.

Part of the charm is that they have limits and rules. But I think you might be referring to the permissions related shit, the part that most people (seemingly the Chuubas themselves) hate. Needing to go to your manager for every little thing. Being unsure of if you can even talk about certain things. That is very stifling and I don’t blame some of them for feeling stuck. For example I always think of Ame’s MV being ready for the past year and it getting cancelled at the last couple hours just as she was preparing to make it available.

I think they’re still in the process of learning how to do that. It takes them time to release new gens so I think we just have to wait and see what they do in the next iteration
