Anon I would say that it's not a matter of your concept when first starting out. You can change and adapt your style as a streamer as much as you want because that's the freedom of being an amateur.

Questions like these seem rather lacking in point, try streaming even if it's with an incredibly scuffed setup so you can acquire experience and feedback. You'll find your place as an entertainer naturally.

probably gonna get laughed at by a bunch of anons for this, but I started networking and I've been getting attached to this friend group, which means well, but I know I can't continue growing if I keep myself glued to them. all of us started last month during march, and our twitter followers range around ~500-1,200, and our CCV range per person in our little group is around 12-30, and there's one spiking up to ~50 on really good days and ~70 on raids
I've been tuning into this one friend's (in that same group) streams, they have a really nice, smooth-talking voice, a very "shy" personality that's basically just like them off-stream but they've mentioned tuning it up for streams, and I might be slowly falling into the "oh god they're so cute" retardation and getting shackled into a weird parasocial relationship with both their on-stream and off-stream persona
anyways, what should i do, i've taken my meds, am I beyond saving
also we've done a group collab but we plan to do a duo collab soon, our CCV is pretty decent for indies who are starting out

But this goes differently for all ladies, that's why there's so many different types, just like how there's oneesama types to imouto types. I remember there was a method itroduced some time ago for including multiple active models from different vtubers efficiently, like without using Discord reactive images, for collabs and shit. I don't have the link on me but it would be great if someone may happen to know the method.

I think your idea is not bad but the art style doesn't work well for what you're trying to convey, not to say that it's a bad art style at all but something just isn't clicking for me. Maybe for others though if other femanon lurkers want to give you feedback on how they like your design. I think the best way to gauge if a character is coherent is to commission someone and see what you receive back in their perception, and that's how others see your character.

I am funny guy preference femanon. They are not buff, but toned, I think that is the difference. The only "buff" buff guys in free are probably Makoto and Sosuke with the broader builds, with Nagisa covering the skinnier build and Rin and Haru being the middle ground. Buff is what I would consider the jouvru models. Toned is a good middle ground to go for any male body type, the appeal range is wide and most girls will like them.

The "brotuber" obsession is such a weird one, everyone seems to think they'll be the first successful one when it's pretty clear there's very little audience for that type of thing. Surely anything can do well given the right amount of exposure, entertainment value etc but there's still the "type" of viewer vtubing tends to attract (and more importantly filter) and it's clear that the interest in it as of now is very low. The "bro" experience tends to be almost completely delegated to IRL streamers and a lot of those audiences find the very idea of vtubing to be weird.

A lot of people I think have a bit of envy towards a lot of the more successful "bishie" chuubas out there because they fulfill a role and play into something that they themselves might not be comfortable doing (for whatever personal reasons, nothing wrong with it) so they get upset at anyone trying to pull off something similar. I don't get where the "women with no tits" comes from, I don't know anything about this game but this hyena group stood out to be immediately with how varied their target demographics are, they all fulfill a separate "type" despite all having the same overall theme. Femanon here! Twisted Wonderland has one of the most varied collectives of cast characters I've seen in a long time.

From shorter more petite framed guys, to tall and skinny ones, to ones with more broad and masculine builds, they cover it all. And design wise too, they have short hair, long hair, tan skin, megane, etc.

I'm not sure why they were being called bad when in reality, Twisted Wonderland is a prime example of how characters can be designed without looking anything alike (aside from the twins). I think there is good inspiration to be taken from the cast, and if any male non-babi aspies want a good path of design, look more into not only Twisted Wonderland, but other franchises marketed towards women with a large cast of characters to assemble a moodboard.

I'd recommend focusing on your own desire to stream, nothing burns you out quicker than feeling obligated to do something when you don't want to. I treat streaming as a thing i only do to make myself feel good. When i go live i know there's nothing i'd rather do at that moment. I won't bend over for my schedule, if i don't wanna stream that day i'll just go to bed. It can help giving you some discipline, but you might risk hating streaming in the long run. Depends on what kind of person you are though.

Not meant to be a drama post but rather a genuine vent. Just saw the whole thing about two corpo girls leaving their past corpo and being able to take their models and brands to another corpo within a week or two.

Not sure if it makes sense but it kind of makes me feel bad that some people are able to have that kind of opportunity while I struggle to put myself out there. I mean, I haven’t even streamed for more than maybe 6 hours over the past month and a half, I don’t even have a “proper” model (excluding the “temporary” one that I made just to get started, and I haven’t found my “voice” yet, I’m just being myself with nothing added.
I honestly don’t even know when I should actually start investing more money or resources into this… other than what I already have done so far (new PC and audio gear primarily.) I’m talking things like a Live2D rig that’s either fully done by myself or illustrated and rigged by others, additional purchases like a desk, lighting, and another monitor, etc.

I actually enjoyed doing the MK8DX stream Tuesday night despite having to drag things from one room to another twice, much more than the previous two attempts with Minecraft and my cancelled attempt a week or two ago for MK8 (due to having no compatible cable at the time for my HD60 S). And I think that now is the time for me to try to stick to a twice a week schedule as best as I can if I want to make steaming an active hobby.

Yes whatever. If you stream on twitch you can use literally anything, only the vods get targeted and even then only muted where copyrighted music is detected, and the algorithms are very sloppy, as in they really don't detect much.
Youtube is more tense as the algos are effective, copyrighted music ANYWHERE in the stream means youtube will steal all the video's revenus from vods and slap on ads without your consent.

Use discord's streaming to send your model to your collabs. Haven't tried it myself but according to my quick search you can stream to up to 10 people from Discord, which would be enough for most collabs. Since you're going to use discord anyway for the collab, it seems to be the most effective way to go about it.

There is high production quality in their works even if the talents themselves are just sitting and talking to the viewers most of the time.
The selection of talent being good quality and the production being high quality means it is worthwhile to check out other creators associated.
That is the logic.
They also came onto the trend when it was very new, meaning that they are an established force in the industry.
There is nothing for you to abuse outside of understanding that collaboration, polish, and being chill can help you move up.

Find a niche you think you can break into with VTubing and just go for it. That's really the best info I can offer you. The rest is obvious stuff. There's no secret sauce.

There's a lot of overthinking lots of us do. But I think it's really just about maximizing chances and self-improvement.
Every time you put yourself on a platform it's a dice roll. Most things you put out there are gonna be losers, especially early on while you are establishing yourself. Most other VTubers won't want to have anything to do with you and minimize their interaction with you, until they see your number is high enough.

The overwhelming amount of stuff I've seen in these threads is autism that nobody cares about. Keep things simple and don't overthink. Make adjustments along the way and focus on personal goals.

What are the better indie options? Niji capitalizes more on what the top streamers do instead of Holo's "untouchable" angle. Niji is significantly more laid back and accessible, and it reflects in their content, collabs, and social media. They also have the power of a successful brand behind them which makes them seem more official despite making similar content to existing indies.

Thank you for the info. I am currently looking into specifically how to grab viewers from the big corps. You do have a point with putting out a lot of content / marketing and most of them not being hits. One of the key points of strength for a corporation or a co-op of streamers is that you get more chances of going viral and having everyone benefit. Optimally you also have other people to run ideas by so you can scrap them before they even go out.
