I'd probably avoid it if I was afraid of criticism and not internet-savvy though. (Or if I was just having a bad day and didn't need someone saying they think I'm a whore.)
The public comment section will always be super-positive and gloss over any latent issues present. You'll get no good actual feedback from there. And 4chan also makes it easier to interact with your fans without revealing who you are. (Yes, you could make an alternate account on different sites, but unless you remake it often the chances of it being traced just increases with time.)
That's not to say that /vt/ is perfect or even good. There's a ton of trash and trolls that is of no interest to vtubers here. But if you're good at filtering that stuff out, I wouldn't be surprised if it could be a resource for negative feedback.

As for Fauna, I doubt she's (here), but I think she would handle it just fine. She knows a lot more than she lets on, and while her on-stream persona is very positive, she is clearly aware of problems despite her fanbase constantly sucking her off in public. (It was cute how people were surprised when she mentioned that she considers herself a bit of a cynic and cold-hearted in the bad-end game stream, as if a kind-hearted person like her wouldn't inevitably get jaded at her age. Every cynic is just a deeply disappointed idealist after all.)

Also, you should probably stop projecting your own insecurities onto everyone else using this site. You're not a failure just because you're on 4chan. Yes, the userbase of this site has a lot of issues, but that's true for any other site too. The biggest difference is that people here are unfiltered, while on other sites people hide their feelings to protect themselves.

i was bored and so i made a script that parsed the output of a youtube chat downloader and holy shit, it's surprising how many messages some people send. this guy in the last stream was at 2.5 messages per minute with nearly 300 messages total. that's the highest rate i've seen since i've been using this script

It pains me that she wanted to move to create better content for her saplings, but the move only created problems for her. But it kinda warms my heart that she's working hard to fix these issues, and still manages to stream consistently throughout the week, even preparing prerecorded content on her away days.
