What's the lore behind frozen smol ame?

She's the Ame Prime , frozen in the sands of time for all eternity while the Ames from other realities are free to move through it.

She is an undying entity which resides in the ruins of the world, having seen all of her friends pass by and perish along with humanity.
With hope dead and death dispelled due to lack of purpose, the Council returns to their original state of being alongside Omega.
Smol ame sits on the bench, waiting for the end.
The final moments come while she slumbers, the world beginning to crumble as she dreams.
It is a good dream - of her old friends, her Myth sisters, the good times, the bad times. Every laugh is a blessing. Every tear is a promise of better times to come.
Her desire to see them once more cries out from within and the broken watch creaks, strains. Time grinds to a standstill with Ame paralysed within. She awaits someone who can take her back.

she's one of the original versions of Ame. she's timed locked because Kronii had spared her in this timeline. while Kronii cannot intervene and alter time, she can pause it. this is what is left of this timeline.

the Ame we know as small Ame fought to protect her friends. this timeline was doomed and there was no way to save it. using the remainder of her time powers, Ame sent her friends back in time, as far as she could. Gura, back to Atlantic, Kiara and Mori to the beginning of time, and Ina back to quiet life as a shrine maiden. Ame did this because she knew the end of this timeline could not be stopped.

instead, she chose to save her friends because she believed in them. she trusted them as much as she knew they would trust her. sending them back so that they may learn and prevent The End together, before it gets out of control. before it ends up like this.

her mission complete, Ame takes a seat on the bus stop bench with Bubba. she knows that her friends will face incredible challenges but knows that they will be okay. trusting that they will be able to save the timeline and exhausted from exerting herself, Ame closes her eyes, all she needs is a short nap to rest for a while.

Lore and stories surrounding time travel tend to be sad as a subversion of the expectation that time travel would be fun and awesome. Once upon a time, the first stories about a person who could control time just ended up being lonely and miserable were probably novel. At this point, coming up with stories about time travel that just end up being melancholic has become played out and isn't very subversive at all anymore, but people still do it because time travel is complicated and hard to write well so people fall back on misery porn and sadness to compensate.
