Lets say her model significantly improves, would it actually make that much of a difference to her growth? Everyone knows her by now. Most of her growth nowadays just comes from existing fans of Hololive that already knew of her but didn't bother subscribing until now. It's not like it will bring in outsiders.

Those that adore IRyS often find her design sex and charming after a while and won't watch her more just because it suddenly got nicer to look at; they were already watching her. The artwork she gets is sex as fuck like Sana's and that's often enough to keep the fanbases satisfied anyway.

I don't know why, but I have never been able to see what is wrong with her model. It's so frustrating, almost like the blue vs white dress thing years ago. And no one can ever put into words what they dislike about it other than "it sucks." So I am convinced smoothbrains just see a different-than-usual art style and their brain just takes a fat shit for no reason.

The big things.
>1. Too detailed
similar to roberto its too detailed which makes it uncanny, its that half rendered state some anime illustrations do that works in an illustration, but doesn't work in movement.
the face shading especially stands out, the nose and mouse just do not blend well with the anime face.
>2. Proportions
the face proportions are just off, which is further emphasized thanks to how flat the hair on her head is. Its not far enough that its obvious to everyone, but its just far enough that it looks weird, especially considering other choices that are contradictory to the proportions used. e.g. big eyes and a childish face usually go with having their face lower.
It could just be better defined in parts as well.
>3. hair
it doesn't look good in color or style, the back half just looks like a kool-aid puke mess. its really flat and the shades of purple don't serve to add depth, it just makes it look messy. The forms are just not there and it looks like a mess.
The color just isn't particularly a nice color either, there's a reason they usually use softer colors and shades for hair.
For reference pic rel, almost all of them have bright hair. and even the darker ones tend to use very basic shades and hard shadows so that it just contains the shapes better.
>4. style
i guess i'll just say style here, it falls under similar to too detailed but just the way the model gets rigged there's a lot of weird stuff that goes on. any time she opens her mouth it just looks goofy rather than natural.

Also unrelated but first time i looked closely, can you see her nipples in that outfit or is it just me?

I don't know what your threshold for "realistic" is, but by "realistic mouth" I think you mean "literally any depiction of lips whatsoever" because anime characters normally have none. And her eyes are anime-large, both overall and the size of the irises, and though they are highly detailed, that is also extremely common in anime girls now. I would not call them a significant departure from normal anime eyes at all, they are well within the realm of convention.

Lastly, she actually does have faint nostrils. Ironically, that is the one thing that does slightly bother me about her model. I wish they would just remove them.

Her eyes are halfway between the top and bottom of her head, as is conventional, and I don't know what you mean / why you care about her hair being "flat on top of her head." There are many characters in your pic with literally brown or black (dark) hair, as you said, and I don't see much distinction in terms of "harder shadows" etc. I don't understand any motivation to have a hard complaint about a color. Similar with the style; there are a lot of fucking ridiculous anime hair styles, even in that pic, and I don't see anyone retching over them.
