Well I get my very first dividend payment (exciting!) and with it realized that I did not read the info page well enough and that the payments are independent of market performance. I probably shouldn't have oshicoined while said oshi was on break, but it's still a lesson to be learned so I'm not too bothered. I'll just have to trust that she inclines when she returns and makes me loads of (monopoly) money.
With that realization however has come with it renewed vigor! I know now that if I keep track of holos performances, I may be able to swoop in and make a good profit when they're inclining! Unfortunately I'm a bit stubborn and don't want to sell anything so that'll be a while yet, but it's something to look forward to. At least the coins I have invested in have been pretty stable.
To not make this entirely a blogpost, I was wondering if the function for the dividend payments was public knowledge? Now I'm not someone who's likely to go calculating that myself, but it is something I'm curious about and would like to look at if it is.

It is not. A few people have tried to varying degrees of success, but it is considered to be mostly more trouble than it's worth. Knowing the dividend formula wouldn't actually change the metagame in any real way, since we already KNOW that dividends are based on channel performance and market mean.

Indeed, dividends are independent on price, but they are dependent on coin performance in terms of weekly views/subs. The cutoff is Thursday, though, not Friday/Sunday.
The dividends formula isn't public knowledge. There are people who have it figured out, but ultimately it does not matter that much since you can only elucidate the dividends on Thursday versus payout on Friday/Saturday... and you usually invest there long-term, not for a single payment. In a different market, maybe that formula would be more valuable, but as it stands its importance is doubtful.

There isn't one "right" way of computing inflation. You can use weekly prices, or prices over two or more weeks (since you normalize it to either weekly or daily % anyways), you can use in theory either opening or closing prices, depending on what you want. For bigger spikes, yes, 10k subtick spikes are better, but Towa's price has been inflated for days due to 1-2k subticks making her price higher than it would be when it's 0 subtick which she'll be getting most of the time now, which is what I was talking about in my post. Seeing how leaderboard place might not entirely reflect how well or how poorly you are doing anymore and the benchmark page is vulnerable to daily market fluctuations, we’ve collected data from all active players with open wallets. It was then processed and separated into four categories: Trading, Investing, Dividends, and Wallet Appreciation to gain more insight into your performance during the past week. The tables will use colors to denote possible membership of a corporation/group after they form.

• There have been 219 players who made at least a single transaction in the past week.

>Disclaimer & Limitations
Before we proceed, I should note that the Returns Report is still a work-in-progress. In its finished state, the Returns Report will also include losses/gains of net worth due to gacha, betting, and market fluctuations, painting a whole and complete picture of individual components that caused your net worth to change over the week.
The data collection has several limitations:
• It does not include data from closed wallets.
• Inactivity is denoted solely by the lack of trades in the past week.
• If someone were to open and close their wallets over the week, it’d only count the open-wallet period.
• User had to exist at the moment the beginning of the week, when data collection started.
So, if you are active and want to see your performance in those reports, set your wallet to public!

Due to peculiarities of the data collection, there is a single case in which an active account would not be featured in the Returns Report, even with an open wallet. All three conditions have to be fulfilled:
• Account was created last year.
• Account’s wallet is open.
• Account never bought a coin.
In this single case, that account would need to be manually added. No active accounts fulfill those conditions right now. Nevertheless, if you do not appear in the Returns Report and would 1) want to 2) fulfill three criteria above, please send a direct message to Triangle Consulting.


>Income Overview
The data was collected during the 20:00 GMT+0 27.03.2022 to 20:00 GMT+0 03.04.2022 period. Data is sorted from largest to smallest total income during the data collecting period.
To define the sources of income:
- ‘Trading Profit’ stems from selling coins within the last week. Once a coin is sold, an associated ‘buy’ transaction is matched. The difference between buy price and sell price, deducted by buying/selling taxes, constitutes the trading profit column. Zeros in this column indicate a lack of sells, while negative values indicate inefficient trading.
- ‘Investments Profit’ stems from coins bought but not sold within the last week. In this case, the ‘profit’ is measured by taking the buy price and subtracting it from the 14-day average price of the coin. Negative values here indicate buying coins above their base price and holding them – large negative values are often the signs of heavy oshicoining or spending large amounts of money at once.
- ‘Last Dividends’ is simple enough. It’s the dividend payout from 02.04.2022 dividends.
- ‘Wallet Appreciation’ is the increase in net worth caused by market inflation. Bigger wallets have coins that remained ‘passive’ throughout the entire week are neither bought nor sold; however, the market is trending upwards, and thus they increase in value over time slightly. It is harder to notice, but it has a massive impact as it makes up for roughly 1/4th of the total profits of higher-ranked players. It’s calculated by taking the 21-day average price of a coin one week ago and now, subtracting them, and then multiplying by the amount of ‘passive’ coins in the wallet for every coin. Naturally, if the market were trending downwards, we’d observe a wallet depreciation, loss in value.
- ‘Auctions’ is the net balance of all auctions that finished within the data collection period. This factors in taxes on the side of the buyer, since the seller of the item only receives 95% of the bid.

Oshicoiners and high-ranked players, respectively, thrust themselves into buying coins above their average prices if they want to convert liquid into coins for long-term dividend profits.
As you can see, trading differentiates the players a lot. While total income was correlated mainly with rank, especially high on the leaderboard, trading easily differentiates between players who are close to one another.

Auctions are a niche source of income most of the time, but can explain much of the rapid movement at later pages of the leaderboard.
As you can see, wallet appreciation starts being the main driving force of late-game income. This trend will deepen as long as dividends remain stagnant.

Ookami streams get nearly no views, looking at her channel right now (most views will have been counted, shouldn't vary much from this adjustment), the apex VOD has 209k views and the Ookami stream has 50k views, for a total of ~260k views + passive view generation. This is just from Trading Profit. Your two biggest sources of registered losses were high-multisell Rushia (23.6m in losses, meaning you bought her at a high price a long time ago and now you're selling for cheap) and overpriced Suisei (22.0m in losses, but she's your oshi so it's good).

Other than that... not a whole lot of profits. Mostly even on investments, but not a lot of sells made by you.

the important thing is not to lose money on the trade
taxes for buy is 4.5% for x1, up to 45% for x10, and on sells its free at x1, 6% on x2 and 30% on x10 so, firstly, no point buying a 4% spike, youre just breaking even.
Second thing is to have some concept of a coins average price, coinsider making even just a notepad of what you consider each coins "normal" price, dont just look at honks reds and greens, a 10>15>10 cycle will still look like a -33% at the end but its not worth buying. And then make your multibuy calcuations off PriceNow vs Average

I enjoyed seeing my graph go up and the game for a while to the point of not turning off my desktop but it became boring now since: (1) The market is too predictable. (2) There's nothing much else to do in the game. (3) It's basically an AFK game that lacks offline features (4) The more you go up the more you'll be needing to not turn off your desktop, not really rewarding, rather, it's the opposite, it's punishing you instead (5) The game lacks anything to keep you entertained or occupied, it's really just enjoyable for the first few weeks or months.
