I'd gladly post more about the Minecraft server in the thread itself if not for certain individuals being unreasonably hostile about it. Same thing for a lot of the stuff mentioned here - off-topic, avatarfagging, shitposting. Why is the thread so bipolar? Weekend only or not, I think that our thread activity started to degrade because of it. The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd time mogu created it, it was fine/perfect because it was advertised as a means to create our weekly OC/OP, also as a way to encourage us to do our reps and it involved everything that was happening in the threads. It started to change little by little when everyone saw that it was a great way to chat with players or our rivals, and it became something that everyone looked forward into. I'm not them but I would guess that everyone started to not share their stories in the thread but instead keep their stories, be it personal or about the game, until the weekend aggie and share their stories in there instead.
That was the starting point our thread activity became less active, mixed with all the timeloops and armchair dev that was happening, some probably saw it as a way to escape the thread when it was happening.

Another honest opinion of mine is, we're just seeing global chat to blame for our recent thread inactivity but in reality, everyone is starting to get bored of the game, or we just have nothing to talk about anymore. The same thing happened during sundays when the thread was not that active back then, some anons blamed the aggie for that but when visiting the aggie, the aggie itself has nothing happening and is inactive except for those who are drawing, like the global chat problem right now. Everyone implies that it's killing the main activity but when you visit it, you will see the last chat being 45 minutes ago or sometimes more.
All in all just the same thing.

The only thing that moved to the aggie was offtopic, since, at the time, everyone felt like it was polluting the threads. All the others continued to be on the thread for long after the aggie's creation.
I think the real problem here is that no one cares about the game anymore. The people who used to shitpost, avatarfag, etc. got tired both of the game, and the thread being whiny cunts about every tiny thing. Gradually, people either stopped interacting with the thread, they stopped playing the game or both
You cry about the aggie taking all of this from the thread but if you go to the aggie.you'd see it's a wasteland. There's been no one talking there for the past few days. And I from what I've seen the GC is similarly dead. Even if you were to remove the aggie and the GC overnight, the thread would not go back to how it used to be. Firstly, because most of those posters are long gone. And secondly, cause for those who remained there's nothing to talk about.

Believe me, most of what happens in it would either not be said in the thread at all or you wouldn't want it in the thread. There's a reason why myself and others still engaged in the thread heavily, because ultimately we, as players, care about the thread.

The Zaibatsu's biggest failure is being unable to promote competition (which was supposed to inject more life and LARP into the thread). I know there's one group that organized in secret but is waiting for mutual funds to drop, and maybe there's several more in the works waiting for that update.

Im sure I remember there were talk about if we only wanted game discussion happening the thread would be dead but the thread is still dead anyways because we ran out of things to talk about. nothing is stopping us at using the thread for anything. Any questions about general game mechanics are welcome here. There's a lot of knowledge which is commonly known for older players but isn't accessible on the game page itself, so rehearsing them is good for the newer players who might have joined in later.
For me, it's primarily the very specific gameplay questions that became a bit grating over time, i.e. "is my multicoin on [X] correct? should it be 4x instead of 5x?"

Well I'll just ask for some clarification on my end because I'm kind of a dumbass. So! From what I understand coins will fluctuate based off the performance of the chuuba, right? So say you have Akicoin (random pick) and she inclines a bit, the price of the coin will by itself go up. Is that right? I know there's also the speculative market(?), where players think that a certain coin will have more worth in the future which will potentially cause it to incline earlier than expected. If that is the case, then how do Cocoin and Civiacoin work? Are they purely speculative or is there some underlying factor that the market takes into account?

Indeed. They are based off performance (usually counted up to a cutoff at 00:00 UTC, aka. 19:00 server-time) of a channel, scraping Youtube's API. Parameters such as daily views, weekly views, daily subs and weekly subs are involved. At adjustments (9:00 server-time), those metrics are applied and a coin trends towards a new value. Outside of this single special time of the day, price movements you can see are all player-driven... which is why they are usually quite dull, only going up or down throughout the day.
The consequence of this is that if a stream ends past 00:00 UTC, it'll be counted for next day's adjustments, not the upcoming ones.

If you think about it, this makes Coco's movement a bit easier to explain - she still has a channel, and thus still gets some residual views or subscriber changes. In the case of Civia, her channel exists, but doesn't have any videos. She's a special case who skips adjustments, and therefore she is the only coin that is purely speculative (Rushia will be treated the same).

The adjustment is based on a lot of things, but one of the major factors is the difference in channel views and subscribers between the adjustment day and the day before. Additionally players buying or selling the coins affect their prices, this is mostly whats going on with civia, people are buying her but no one is selling here, since there is no reason to sell.

There's two main things that cause coins to change price: Transactional Adjustments and Daily Adjustments.
Transactional Adjustments are very tiny incremental changes that occur when a player buys or sells a share of the coin. If a player buys, the coin's price goes up slightly. If they sell, it goes down slightly. Transactional Adjustments are almost entirely dependent on players, but can be bigger or smaller depending on how many shares are in circulation for that coin.
Daily Adjustments are a once-a-day change at 9:05a Server Time that shift a coin towards what the system thinks their "real" price should be (based on the associated channel's performance in views/subs). They are primarily system-dependent, but are usually the biggest changes.

Civia is a bit of a weird case (Rushia will be joining her starting tomorrow). As she has no videos, she can't accumulate views, but she still has subs somehow, which sometimes trickle up or down. As such, her price is mainly player-driven. Coco still gets views and subs, so she operates pretty much as normal, just more muted because the views/subs she gets are still mostly static compared to other Holos.

The "Speculative" market is trying to buy up shares in anticipation of massive daily adjustment prices from high-traffic events (such as a certain comet's anniversary live), as well as trying to amass large quantites of shares to farm for strong returns on dividends at the end of the week.
