The VOD viewer number is for everyone that tuned in over the course of the stream regardless of how long they stayed. I see this a lot with Rose, who usually sits between 30-60+ live viewers, but once the video archives it shoots up to 800-1k.

But with raids, hosting, general networking, it's a lot easier for channels to be discovered. YT doesn't recommend me new chuubas at all anymore, especially no live ones. I have to go out of my way to find any.
