Miko does watchalongs regularly, usually once a week. I wouldn't say that's leaving it to "rot". She's also doubledipping on money as some 35p (all me) pay for subscriptions on both channels.

Youtube is a fucking bitch and they are making moves to test the waters in different platforms.
Nothing might come out of it, but who knows.
The point of testing stuff is to see how it works.
Reminder that on twitch streamers don't need to worry about copyright bullshit, they can stream more games and they can play copyrighted music, they can even play clips from youtube and react to them.
There's also a much bigger audience in Twitch than there is on youtube.
Literally the only advantage of Youtube is a better vod system and video recommendations.
This is why for many vtubers the meta is to stream on twitch and upload their vods on youtube along with short clips made for viral consumption.
Hololive would be foolish to ignore Twitch entirely and put all their eggs on youtube's basket.

Jewtube is a piece of shit that's actively hostile to content creators. So is Twitch. However, if Hololive implicitly threatens moving to Twitch then Jewtube might treat them slightly better in fear of losing them and Twitch might treat them slightly better in hopes of gaining them. Playing both sides is a very smart move.
