Do any of you guys with a higher Vtuber/Vsinger powerlevel have any ideas about who it might be? Are there even any prominent independent English Vsingers right now, or is it more likely that whoever they get for the job is going to be coming from a background with no prior experience except in just singing?

If you're talking about her numbers, those are the result of mismanagement that stems from her project originally being a joint venture with Upd8. The whole reason why she's been more active lately, has more freedom than before, and has been inclining hard is because Upd8 is now dead.

I think part of the appeal of Holos is giving otherwise normal (if not a little broken) girls an opportunity and a chance to shine. It is exactly for this reason that many of them are literal angels, who truly appreciate the position they are given and you can see that. (Hence all the videos comparing 3d twitch girls vs holos.)

Clearly there are outright industry professionals applying, but if they start hiring super privileged girls who are "that superstar in school who is literally good at everything" types and have already experienced success before, well, where's the fun in that?

Well, this is more Calli just overworking herself and using Cover's connections than Cover themselves doing anything besides being a middleman.

I've been following the VSingers scene for quite a while now and while music production and releases is of primary importance, I think the tech to produce a good live performance is important as well and we know that Cover's 3D tech is still behind others in the scene.

Cover is not adverse to hiring the clearly extremely multi-talented, but absurdly under-rated semi-starving artist types - Suisei is the poster child of this. Neither are they adverse to hiring actual pros like Ina at her specialized field of illustration. Someone who has already made it in Hollywood or on Broadway is not going to choose to become a vtuber. The closest thing to what you're describing is the situation with Yua. Do you know how that worked out for her? Look it up if you don't know.

I can assure you this is not going to happen because it's not in the company's interest to hire such people. Someone who's beautiful, incredibly talented, has succeeded at practically everything she's ever tried, etc is a very bad hire because the only thing such a person lacks is exposure. By hiring such a person and giving her that exposure, you now have practically no leverage over her and little guarantee that she won't just leave as soon as she's bored of the job or pull a Kaguya Luna and try to become a celebrity in her own right once enough people know who she is. Conversely, this is why Amelia was hired and why she is an example of a very good hire--she is objectively a loser in the eyes of the world (I don't mean this in a derogatory sense) but she's someone who approaches her activities seriously despite making no real progress in them for years. Someone like her, who's appealing enough to be marketable but who is nothing without your brand, is exactly the sort of person who makes for a good employee.

I'm not so sure. Nursing pays well, but everything else about about the job is (literally) full of shit until you get enough seniority to delegate the worst jobs to the newer hires. If you can pay the bills by singing and occasionally playing games for several years while still having nursing as your fallback in the unlikely case that the industry implodes, that sounds attractive enough for a grunt nurse to potentially decide to quit her day job.

It generally takes 3-4 months from the end of auditions to debut, so they'll almost definitely be revealed some time in May (unless they take extra time preparing music for debut).
