I feel like one of the reasons she doesn't stream much is because she thought it would be more enjoyable in her head than in reality. Entertaining an audience can actually be a lot of effort.
Streaming sounds fun in practice, but in reality it can get quite tiring and stressful if you run out of things to say or ideas to stream.

There's probably a lot of added stress and expectations that come with Hololive, you're guaranteed at least thousands of viewers every stream so there's a high bar that's set in regards to the quality Cover expects.

If you check the application, you will see that Hololive does like potential applicants having a history of content creation, though perhaps they should be more stringent about streaming being a part of that! Thanks for the question!

Just streaming alone is not enough though, most indies have 100 games they can stream, try streaming vanila minecraft for a hundred hours and making it fun, spoiler you cant
The real skill that you need is to bounce and talk to a chatroom for hours and somewhat enjoy it and making the game secondary to that

I'd be fine with 30 minute streams! weekly! I don't even need video

that and she literally broke her back so I guess that's a thing.

I'd assume it's already part of their requirements which is why I don't know why they hired her despite having little to no prior experience in streaming.

>> No.21050544

Gura only started streaming as a test run for Hololive and Mori had no streaming experience, and they're the two most subscribed members

>> No.21050914

Pretty sure Gura used to stream before Hololive and Calliope struggled pretty hard with enjoying streaming for quite a while, so the argument still stands.

Personally I toyed with the idea of streaming years ago but even with an active chatbox, I still couldn't get over the feeling of talking to myself and the boredom that came with it.

Some people just aren't made to be entertainers. Sana herself has a background as an artist, like Ina, but while Ina turned out to enjoy streaming it obviously doesn't come as easily to Sana. Also it's probably not a priority to her since she's already established a successful career in art.

Wasn't she an ASMR channel? Kinda different. But I hear she got doxxed recently so maybe my rrats are outdated.

I feel like the crippling back injury that stops her from sitting in a chair prevents her from streaming right now

She clearly enjoyed streaming at the start, doing long endurance streams

>Should a long history of streaming be necessary for Hololive members?
No, but it should be a preferred

My genuine, non-shitposty answer is that the status quo still seems to be the best from what info we have so far. Everyone else has mentioned Subaru, for example, but I'd like to point to the larger phenomenon of job interviews and previous experience often being kind of dogshit at predicting future success. And remember, for every criterion that turns out ineffective at determining success, you filter out plenty of people who could potentially change the game with their different perspective.

For example, Rushia had a lot of previous streaming experience, IIRC, and that eventually came to naught because she's just too menhera. With this sort of job, I really think it's a bit of a crapshoot/more about maintaining a structure that helps the talents once they're inside.

Gura definitely streamed before Hololive, I'm just not sure whether she started streaming to pad out her application or after she knew she got in and wanted to practice before debut

but that would require their management to do something other than merely vetting the talents ideas, and they probably also think they didn't sign for this job
