Nobody's talking about this? she is being cancelled for being rude to people and stuff.

She botched an art competition by not accepting certain entries. Her mishandling of this knocked a high-pressure line the world's been ignoring for years: her anger, rudeness, and mistreatment of everyone.

saruei’s always been kind of rude and chaotic and i don’t know why people are acting surprised. they should have known better. also, i’ve seen seen the art of some of the people who got rejected and it’s all legitimately fucking terrible. i really can’t blame saruei for thinking these people traced their art given how absolutely dogshit their pieces were. here’s an example, this is one of the “leaders” of the cancellation’s piece they apparently spent AN ENTIRE MONTH working on. it’s legitimately awful in every way. could you blame saruei at all for thinking this looks off in ways that are suspect? it’s incredibly sad this person spent an entire month on this but it was time they would have been far better off doing still life work or really anything else besides this piece of garbage. this us the whole problem with art contests in the first place, people ALWAYS get way too personally invested in them even when they have absolutely no chance of being taken seriously and all that happens is a bunch of people wind up with hurt feelings. saruei really should not have tried doing a contest since they never go well

NTA but people don't realize how taxing it is to be in the public eye, especially when you have your own issues behind the scenes to deal with. Being constantly bombarded with hate messages for several months, having people take any innocuous statement you make and twist it so more people hate you, seeing former fans leave you because they bought into the drama/lies, etc can take a serious mental toll on you.
Yeah she has a shit ton of patrons on Patreon, but part of content creation requires having that spark and sense of fulfillment from your work. Passion is why some content creators will spend several months perfecting a script, redoing everything from scratch if they catch a big mistake and so on. Without that sense of passion, there's a bigger chance your content will appear as half-assed...which will garner you even more criticism. I don't envy what she's gone through.

Actually no. It's just what I have learned from watching streamers and other content creators recount the amount of shit that they have to go through. Those stories always stuck with me, especially after seeing so much harassment and drama happen to these people while they have to bottle everything up or slowly die on the inside.
