Noctyx for some bizarre reason wanted to create one coherent design style between them, like they were part of a real group. I say bizarre because even Luxiem was a bit more varied while being part of a group and the female groups were also very varied.

Council and Myth still have way more variety than anything NijiEn has put out. I just hope this was just an experiment and doesnt become the norm. Hopefully new outfits will fix Noctyxs problem.

While their designs are similar with each other, they don't have any coherent lore connection between them. Both Luxiem and Noctyx.
Myth are all mythical beings and a detective that investigate them. Council are all wardens of a concept, part of the same "organization".
Luxiem have a demon, a sorcerer, a mafioso, a detective and a writer. same thing with Noctyx. They don't have any good lore connecting them together.
At least Lazulight made sense, as they are all "light/good" mythical/folk creatures.

Luxiem is past (Vox is a 400 year old voice demon, Luca and Mysta are a mafia boss and detective from the 1960s, Shu is a sorcerer from who knows when, and Ike is a novelist probably from a more recent time) and Noctyx is future (they're all from a dystopian future where the government silences creative freedom and they've been transported to the same time as Luxiem).

Now that I've answered your question I'd like if you answer mine: why do you people constantly make negative claims like that about Luxiem? Why are there so many assumptions just pulled out of nowhere and then when asked about said assumption, the person proves to have not watched any of their streams? I've seen so many and I truly just want to understand. Is it jealousy that they're getting popular and have numbers that live up to the female vtubers? Is it because they simply exist? Is it another thing I just don't know about? I wish to have a better understanding.

Luxiem are beings form the past and Noctyx are from the future, the names of the waves reference light and dark respectively. But more importantly, each simmilarly collor-coded member has a contrasting occupation that follows a simmilar theme:

Orange (Mysta and Alban): Past Detective and Future Phantom Thief - Theft

Yellow (Luca and Sonny): Past Mafioso and Future Policeman - Crime

Purple (Shu and Uki): Past Sorcerer and Future Psychic - Magic

Blue (Ike and Yugo): Past Novellist and Future DJ - Art

Red (Vox and Fulgur):Past Demon and Future Cyborg - Immortality

Honestly, it's kinda Retarded because Noctyx members ended up relying on Luxiem for a decent part of their Lore, and they don't end up standing out on their own like Myth or Council.

If you saw their models in isolation would this be apparent to you?
Other than her hair color and feather earrings, Kiara has literally nothing in her design evoking a phoenix. All Gura has is a trident staff.

Furthermore, the relationship between these characters is tenuous at best. The premise of "detective investigating mythical creatures" is on its face flimsy. Why is Ame a detective? Shouldn't she be some sort of researcher instead? Are the other Myths committing crimes? And the mythical creatures in question, do they interact in any meaningful capacity?

This setup could work for a more broad cast, like if for example all of Hololive was developed in this concept. But for only five characters, the gap between their domains and lack of connection between their activities in-lore makes the group as a whole feel lacking in a cohesive identity.

Council was much more successful in this regard, being grouped together as an organization with a unified goal. Even though their individual themes are all very different, the context of the Council brings them together in a way that feels natural.
Though I do think Bae is a bit of an outlier without some Order-type member to balance her out.

The themes of Luxiem and Noctyx strike me as even more tenuous than HoloMyth, to the point of seeming more like a prompt for the artists than any holistic identity. However, their design aesthetics are more consistent. I might not be able to pinpoint what kind of character they are or their relationship with the others, but I can easily see them as being part of the same universe.
