"THEY ARE" is shortform for "THEY ARE HERE", implying the VTuber in question is using /vt/, perhaps in the very thread it is said.

It is likely that many VTubers who are popular in the EN scene do post here anonymously, because it is by far the biggest English VTuber community (around 10x r/hololive and 30x /r/virtualyoutubers in active posts per day) however no corporate tuber would ever admit it due to the advertisement hazard that this place is. They'd much rather operate with a sterilized and heavily moderated place like a subreddit, but it's been shown on many occasions that VTubers do frequent here. Plus you have to take into account many of these women are egosearch maniacs who will constantly go anywhere they are being discussed.

Karaoke streams aren't just for 'fun' (though of course they are fun, I personally find them more interesting than videogames), if you're a good singer like Suisei they can basically turn into the backbone of your content.

Also you dismiss music production as being only 'for novelty', but novelty is basically at the heart of every merch release. A fan of Pekora is going to buy a physical Pekora music CD just like he would buy a Nendo or a wall scroll - because it's a new product and hardcore fans enjoy being completionist.
