anyway my answer is that there's really not that much crossover between the cultures of Japanese vtubing (which includes HoloEN and NijiEN) and western vtubing (Vshojo/Twitch indies). The latter is firmly rooted in Twitch culture in a way that the former isn't, a lot of them resent Hololive and/or Nijisanji but ignore unless a big yab flares up (e.g. the Rushia shit) but even then they move on after a few days, some are genuinely interested in vtubing as a medium but others will hop on to the next trend within a couple years or just return to facecam streaming

One thing I genuinely like about vtubing is that it completely removes the question of how attractive you are in real life from the equation of popularity. Okayu is chubby and homely but she's also funny and nice and clever, so she can be a successful chuuba.

This applies to men to some extent but not nearly as much, since it's easier for an unattractive guy to become a successful streamer than an unattractive woman
