I think one of the biggest untapped markets for Hololive right now really is clip content. I went to compare these two streams again since they make such a good case study for EN vs JP streams given they started and ended around the same time with close to the same peak and average CCV. Mumei's VOD has pulled ahead by almost 4k compared to Chloe. I remember that when the VODs were only about a day old Chloe was ahead about 3k which made sense considering her CCV was slightly higher. One example isn't enough to say anything definitive, but has anyone more experienced with numberfagging VODs seen similar indications of EN VODs growing faster than equivalent JP VODs (outside of the VOD monster that is Gura)?

The primary reason laid out that cover got JACK SHIT from internal chinese donations was that any money that they did get got hit twice. Once by B2's cut, and once by the CN government's ridiculous taxes on taking money out of China, to the point where Cover + the talent split was as low as ~20% of whatever was donated.
So yea, Cover made jack-SHIT out of the chinese market in the end. Azur Lane collab would've been paid out via the JP branch of Yostar so that would have gotten around that issue, for those wondering.

2018 was the PEAK of Kizuna's popularity along with the 4HK. They own that year and only starting to decline at 2019 with various fuckery happened, but they still compete on the same ground with nijisanji.

Also, since someone was trying to estimate memberships based on the source "viewCount" on member vods, I'll add the latest numbers for that too just to show how far off it can be. It's a pretty stupid way to estimate memberships in my opinion (look at that 63k view asmr member stream on 12-24 lol). Unique members showing up in the chat log isn't an accurate indicator either, but at least it gives us an absolute floor.
