So let me get this straight, cover is designed around the exploitation of both fans and talent.

The fans are exploited by the talent, they target weak men and schizos who form parasocial relationships with the talent producing revenue. This may be known to some talents while others are blissfully unaware.

The talent is exploited by cover, cover uses the talent as a shield and for revenue. For example, rushia attempting to get her pussy smashed like a normal human causes the “controversy” and cover ultimately receives no criticism of their business model when she has done nothing wrong.

Yes everything.
Cover is just a company that designed some motion 3D cam capture software and put it to 3D models.
The idea behind Hololive was to sell that software but eventually the streamers became so popular, from their personalities, that they decided to split them off into their own company and that became the main focus instead.
The streamers aren't about "exploiting" shit. They just do their thing, gate some minor amount of content behind memberships (like a few streams a month at most), and get paid like regular streamers through sponsorships, donations and those memberships.
All the twitter obsession with GFE is laughable when even the "most" gachikoi-centric streamers like Rushia have tons of content that isn't dependent on that at all and she has a shitton of fans who aren't there for some gf delusion but because she's a funny streamer who plays off other hololive members extremely well, has a cute chara design, a voice to match it and acts like a menhera who does death metal screams when things go wrong and react a ton to her chat.
Cover doesn't have to shield themselves from anything and are just saying what everyone who actually watches Hololive (i.e. not you and other tourists) already knew, that Hololive has no real roommate rules beyond what's stated in their contract.

It's true that majority of us just watch Rushia just because she's a funny streamer, you can't deny most of her solo content focuses on the vocal minority that pay her specifically for the girlfriend experience. She literally never needed to rely on those type of fans, but obviously akasupa fans like Orca pay her the most.

If anything this whole experience is a lesson for Rushia to get away from those type of fans and focus more of being a variety entertainer like Pekora.
