Why can't the big name vtuber companies like Hololive and Nijisanji allow props to be attached to the streamer? Why must they be stationary? It really bothers me.

I think 3.0 Niji models can have props though, but it's gonna be a while before everyone has those.

Definitely possible, Aruran had his revolver to be held properly in his hand even to the point of the finger being on the trigger and looks like it supports gestures for holstering

It just comes down to the effort of modifying every prop to have points for the VR engine to override the tracker placement and modelling how the hand will be position on each prop.

Chances are they are using proprietary live2D programs and are pretty limited to what they can access. meanwhile indies like tenma knows how to work on her live2D since they are made from what i assume live2D cubism, which has a dedicated user friendly interface.
