Don't Stop the Music!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZWIwwP6IPmc

This weekend AZKi has been streaming indie Vtuber music as part of a 3 day music festival. We're approaching the final hours! Every genre of music is represented with over 1000 songs from 400 artists, including a ton of JP indies.

Take this chance to learn more about Indie JP artists and maybe give some of them a look.

今回は400組以上1000曲以上のエントリーがありました!!
すごい世界になったなぁ...合計3枠でやっていきます!
みんなでお祭りたのしめたらいいな!

Fans are filling out a live Google Doc to keep track of the songs being played. Some of these artists have less than 100 subscribers but are making fantastic content

When this is over, we have work to do.

The JP Vtuber world is too diverse to be ignored. They aren't just streamers and this board needs to be properly enlightened.

Every day. Every week. Forever.

Best bet would to try and have a AZKi thread where posting vsingers is fine. No Pioneer is gonna complain as long as the shilling is kept to a reasonable level, and you get to piggeyback off the activity of her starting stream more to keep the thread alive.

A lot of her stuff has a certain jankiness that you get from being an early adopter, but it's always interesting to see the stuff she's experimenting with - even simple stuff like 3d environments and interactable objects in zatsudans, for example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MxLoozbsQ3M&t=14m22s

It's such a shame too. Much of the old fans who followed the OG VTubers are seemingly gone, while many of the new VTuber fans are only familiar with the variety streamer version of VTubers (primarily hololive). It's no wonder the OG VTubers are disrespected and the VSingers sphere remain underground/underappreciated by the influx of new VTuber fans in the past year.

It's not really that the OG fans left, so much as there weren't very many of them in the first place. These are niches within niches. Vtubing's a medium, not a genre - complaining about new VTuber fans not appreciating a different Vtuber is like complaining about Shounen Jump readers not liking a monthly seinen mag - sure, they're both manga, but they're not going to be attracting the same audiences in the first place.

You do realize the song is meant to be a call to action, "Come to the mountain top".

The Mountain Top is not the goal, it's where the training gets even harder/begins, but it shows that you're trying to improve yourself.

If you sit at the bottom, being tweet warriors... well, then this is telling you that it's your own fault. And yeah, fuck you.

The people on this 3 day stream are all working their way up the mountain, or are already at the top, working their asses off creating new content.

Man, I'm now interested in the demographics of the viewership of the festival. I assumed it would mostly be JOP and that's what chat reflected for the large part, but there was pretty clearly a massive overseas viewership. I wonder if it's because of the timeslot her song were played at was still too early in Japan and better suited the western world, or if it's just overseas fans being more vocal since her other song was played in the middle of the day JST and only got a few comments, though they're also all in English.

There's definitely more EOPs in the chat compared to even the last festival 5 months ago. Most of the initial wave from last year are starting to settle in and diffuse to the other Holos, and Azki's English streams + redesign have definitely attracted some of that to her channel. I'd also argue there's more first-time viewers in general who haven't been around for the previous festivals just from the chat and this thread.

Yea, but there's a bit of a difference between being interested in her and her music as an overseas fan compared to being interested in the Japanese vtuber music scene as a whole.

Unrelated, but AZKi just put out her pioneer diary about the event. Beyond the general thanking of the fans and people who participated, apparently an end credit roll would only have had two other people. Pretty amazing that the whole thing was put together by only her and them. The frog has to be one, so I wonder who the other was. Probably another unnamed member of Hololive staff?

>>1830620
An overlap for sure, but I would have thought it would be more on the Japanese fanbase side. It's one thing to find that you like her style and the results of having a quality production staff, and another to go off onto the deepend of trying to get exposed to random music in a language you don't understand, though I am posting in this thread so I guess some people do it. Maybe it's just a general result of the larger overseas audience as a whole, even if it's a smaller proportion.
