Separate dialogue into new paragraphs to avoid cluttering, unless you want a different style.

I generally do:

I've seen other styles work but they are usually professional writers and so it's hard to suggest them to a new writer.

I went through a reality shock recently from a pretty trivial comment. For the record, I think far more people lurk than post, and certainly more people read than comment. (You)'s are not a good metric for how many people read, because most people operate that way about fics in general. It's hard to leave feedback about fics, and even leaving stuff like "great fic!" takes a bit of social effort. It's a lot more luxurious/stress-free to just consume. I guess that's a long way of saying "don't give up", but I also think that if you write primarily for validation you're a fag.

I think any kind of sustained voluntary effort requires a feedback loop and (You)s are exactly the kind of stimulus that tickle the pickle of many writers here.

It's really easy to say "don't give up!" but dropping a fic and getting one reply from someone saying "hey that was okay but you don't know how to write X chuuba" would take the wind out of any writer's sails.

I mean there is that to consider, but there is also the fact that 2nd person PoV is pretty widely disparaged and the 2nd person PoV stories on ao3 usually suck because they use (Y/N) and usually have them be flat characters to generally self insert into which is what usually filters people from 2nd person fanfics.
The use /here/ is different since the fics here are based around a more stable foundation than just "You" but instead is based on a general ideal anonymous vtuber fan. Which is probably still enough to filter people.

It's all well and dandy to encourage more interaction, especially as far as writing comments is concerned, but from the persepctive of the writer or artist or game dev, being solely motivated by how your work is gonna be received is a bad investment. Like you said, it can be harsh to go through with writing something and receive neutral/negative feedback on it. But it won't be as bad for the person who likes writing and wants to improve. I remember posting something when I was young, getting bad feedback, then getting embarrassed and deleting everything. Which was a pretty gay thing to do, but my mindset just wasn't right back then.

Nowadays, I write primarily because I'm into vtubers and like having a creative outlet. It's nice to get (you)s, but I'd be more upset if I knew I sucked and really wanted some extra feedback, which most people here are willing to do. I'd say 1-3 comments is pretty good considering the intersection between posters/people who read/people who liked it enough to comment.

Well, yeah, but they're usually getting paid or have some financial stake in it.

Certainly true, and that's why I've always made a point of telling anyone and everyone here "interested in writing" to do it out of enjoyment for the hobby or don't do it at all. But as for a desire to improve... well, there are other places to share your work, and more to the point, I think a lot of readers here don't put effort in to read more than what tickles their fancy at the time, let alone try to provide useful feedback. It's quite difficult to do that, so I don't blame anyone, but recently I've started thinking that it's best to tell people to submit their works to AO3 first and come here as an afterthought.

Perhaps it is my writing style, or the topic of my story itself, but it seems on ao3 I barely get much feedback other than "haha this part is cool" and the likes. Although to be fair I mainly use ao3 as a dumping grounds for my works, I've consistently been getting more detailed feedback, especially for my works that don't hit it off as well. In my experience, anons here are more inclined to give their feedback in a more robust fashion, but the caveat is that it would mainly apply to the more popular/long running works like the recently released First Summer Memories, GB Watson and of course, HF. There are times where one shot fics get insane feedback(look at Kintsugi), but i suppose that's more of a statement of how good that story was. This probably begs the question, do only "good" or "popular" fics receive better (You)s and feedback, or are anons here just too lazy to say anything?

I think part of it depends on how much character you want to give (You). It's a self-insert fic so you may want to make the character a blank slate that can only say "yes" or "no", or you could actually make them a character in the story and give (You) personality.
For 2nd person in general though, try to avoid making every sentence start with the word "You" as it's easy to do and can get repetitive, and I said this in a previous thread but try thinking of ways to reduce how much "you", "your" and "you're" is used. So for example instead of "You had never found her to be that attractive" maybe use "She had never been that attractive", sort of like an internal monologue/thought rather than telling the reader what they're supposed to be feeling, if that makes sense. 2nd person will always feel like it has too much of the word "you" so don't stress over it too much, just give it a quick skim once your done to maybe patch up a couple things.
Other than that, it's all about practice.

Well whatever this turns out to be, it's at least going to be interesting.
Okay, those first few lines do not start strong.
The dialogue as it continues is also just plain bad. i get that this is a commission and as such it's intended for the commissioner rather than generally targeted but damn is this setup kinda uninspired. Especially since the actual smut is also not that impactful, with the mediocre dialogue accompanying it.
I remember the criticism that's sometimes thrown around here in regards to the NTR fics where they just feel like they're imitating the form of a NTR erodoujin and not the impact. I think this fic fits that as well since its like it's transcribing a Rape doujin plot but not the impact of the hot art.
In conclusion, it's kinda bad for a commision. You need to work on your 3rd person style or stick to writing in 2nd person.
