It is morally wrong but I am in a similar boat but from the other direction. I learned a long time ago parasocial relationships were wrong and I removed myself from all of them, I haven't had a conversation with a real human in more than half a decade at this point and I forget what it's like but I don't miss it. But vtubers managed to suck me in through the deception that this was going to be like interactive anime, that they were playing characters but it turns out only the JP ones are doing that and I ended up getting stuck in the cycle of real-world drama that the non-JP girls create. I'd like to restrict myself to just JP but I'll probably have to just swear off the hobby altogether since there's so much crossover as Japan goes further and further into trying to get that gaijin approval.
