I liked Orange Woman a lot back in the day but
when she became Kson her content felt way too different for me to make the jump along with her. As much as I hate to admit it, the effort Cover puts into the collective image of their talents was a key component in what made me enjoy Coco. I'm no unicorn and I never understood the seething over shit like Holostars collabs, but seeing her join with Trash Taste has just solidified my impression that what she wants out of VTubing is incompatible with why I've personally gotten into the hobby, and I would rather this type of stuff doesn't rub off on the rest of Holos. I speculate that this is because the character "Kson" is more specialised to Japanese audiences, while the character "Kiryu Coco" actively bridged JP to EN. I think if Kson bought Coco from Hololive and used it as her avatar she would be less reserved and more savage.

For a long time I had been quite disappointed that she had to leave hololive. Her streams with the holo members introducing her western perspective to a lot of them were I think very helpful during the turbulent time that hololive as a whole was rising in the youtube community.

> Her Asacoco streams which were hilarious and introduced a multitude of hololive members in a neat package, a lot of whom I still watch to this day (same with Meme streams later on, just not as much of an impression).

After she left, I never bothered watching "KSon" because to me, that channel didn't have any of what made her streams special (as listed above).
I wondered for a long time whether there was any way she could've stayed, whether there was something the members or Yagoo could have said or done to convince her to stay.

From this "interview" of sorts, I've come to realize that that was never going to happen. She had introduced all the "good points" of the Western mentality to the holo members - like taking breaks, caring about mental health along with physical health, caring more about creativity than numbers, methods to deal with antis (don't feed the trolls) which most of the holomembers have adopted, pushing boundaries where you could. Even introduced some new things to JP culture which hates new things, like superchat culture, Ark, and the small layer of irreverence to everything that the otaku types could relate to.

And then she wanted to introduce all the "bad parts" as well. Not caring for the divide between 2D and 3D which most of the holo viewers take solace in. Even getting some of the holomembers to appear on her channel as their IRL selves. Irreverence that goes beyond being funny and borders the line of being insulting (shitting on Disneyland/Sea whatever - which a lot of holomembers enjoy visiting).

(I don't get Disney either, but I don't shit on it in a place where my Disney loving friends can see)

It finally clicked what the "creative differences" were. Yagoo and her managers were always telling her to be careful because too much of the "Western Mentality" could lead to degeneracy that could bring down the entirety of hololive if the members started emulating EVERYTHING she did. She was tolerated for a long time because of the fresh perspective and the benefits that brought, but she wanted to do more, to go beyond.

I wish her all the very best as an indie moving forward. But after a long time of confusion and thinking, I've finally accepted that it's a good thing that she decided to leave Hololive. For both her and the members.

People can influence each other. People emulate who they look up to. Which is why "role model" is a term.
Before Coco, I don't think any holomember would've been comfortable doing an IRL stream with their roommate channel while still working at hololive. It breaks some of the taboos of the Vtuber world and JP otaku culture.
Thankfully the two went had a more focused audience, so it didn't amount to much (I only discovered they went due to some clips and tracing back to the stream and reading some of the comments - all English). Would have been far worse if someone like Miko or Kanata did that.
