Koyori grinded shit for YEARS, VA work, radio appearances, theatric performances, mahjong tournaments, a really prolific indie vtuber channel and more, and now she's got a golden ticket to Holo and streams like crazy. Absolutely no fucking way she doesn't deserve this success.
Lui has been on utaite grindset for fucking 10 years, also working on voice dramas and scenarios for games and vtubers, all while maintaining a day job at some of the worst places that overworked people a lot.
Chloe is capable of writing music to some extent and her singing potential is crazy, with training she will mog many others. And honestly her ability to make people superchat both now and in her PL is something amazing, it's not a bad thing by any means, it's not like she's scamming them.
Iroha and La+ PLs are not that impressive but still they don't let the fame get to their heads, they stream consistently and bond with their genmates and senpais too since the first day their collab ban was lifted. Both are quite popular. No one would dare calling them talentless.
The thing is, Holos getting "free subs" now on their arrival even before debuts is really not everything. It still doesn't undermine the hardships of getting through auditions and the fact that they didn't just sit back and start taking money, they all established consistent streaming schedules and capitalized on their debut buff. Meanwhile when Council debuted people high on copium still said "they need more time to mellow out" after 3 fucking months. Hell, Myth was all over the place too after debuts. I can understand calling their success easily obtained to some extent but there are still a lot of newer holos who work really hard.

No he was not, being in Hololive doesn't not guarantee success. Just fucking look at Mel, Choco, Aki, Anya. A lot of Holos still have side jobs besides Hololive, i mean i could go into extremes and use the Homostars as the clearest example of not being successful just because of the brand.

The problem is that Connor's (and apparently a lot of faggots here) only experience with Hololive are the big ones who are an anomaly among Hololive, chuubas and streamers in general. This even happened to the "record breaking Gura killers" HoloX who had like 500k subs in 2 hours and a first week with 50k+ viewers each stream, immediate success! Right? Well one month later and they're streaming to 1k viewers.

No matter what numberfags say sub count is not a final measurement of success, its one part of it yes but it can't be used alone.

And i'm not saying being in Hololive doesn't help, of course it does, its an amazing start but DOES NOT guarantee success at all. So no, Connor is not "technically right".

If that is the case how come so many of the Holos still have side jobs? Both Matsuri and Noel are over a million subs, they're incredible successful... still have second jobs.

Success is being able to make a comfortable living supporting yourself or your family if that is the need.
