I'm going to explain this for all the TBAs:

All previous actors and actresses in entertainment history have suffered the curse of being identified as their characters. Women who play villains on soap operas often get shit on in real life because most of their viewers are retarded and can't get the actors are literally getting paid to play a character.

Now, thanks to the miracle of technology, you won't have to. You can make your character an alcoholic and then (sort of) leave that joke behind once you're reincarnated.
But by mixing your real life with the character you've created ("Why does an alien dragon from Mars have such a strong opinion about Earth's fiscal policies?") you're denying yourself the chance to start over. The same goes for your real-life relationships. Your character won't end up breaking up with your boyfriend, YOU WILL. It will happen to your character if you choose it to happen to your character. By mixing the two, you will never be able to escape your real life problems by streaming. (Why is "XXXX" not here today? Why did you delete all the Discord emojis of "XXXX"? Why? But why?)

tl;dr: If you want to stream as yourself and do face reveals, better go back to 3D.

The trend began with a certain shark, who was a Debut TBA as well, gained a large following during the HoloEN honeymoon period via both leeching off the wave the EN girls had created, directly and indirectly, and going on a social media promotion blitzkrieg that may or may not have included paid shills and extensive money spent on commissions to make it seem like there was a naturally occurring fanbase coalescing around said shark. The problem is these new clout chasers only seem to have taken away from that example "If I go on twitter and say I am a vtuber, and make funny "I'm gay" tweets 23 times a day, I will obtain a huge following and be famous", which ignores a lot of factors that led to that popularity spike in the example case.

Its even funnier now that we have a lot of examples of TBAs debuting after running the twitter gauntlet, and the breakdown goes like this:
>2000+ Twitter followers
>100~ show up for your debut
>10 or less average regular viewers for subsequent streams

Twitter promotion does not work if you cant hold peoples attention, and has vastly lower impact than people seem to think it does on your streaming numbers, but people still waste countless hours trying to network and be funny on twitter instead of just, ynow, producing real content.

So the other day I started looking at the accounts of the vtubers that were posting stupid stuff about Mori's song for shits and giggles. One of them surprised me since she actually made content and seemed pretty decent. I DMd her to say that the song wasn't aimed at her and she should probably just drop the issue and work on streaming. She responded and was pretty genuine, although clearly not stable. I felt bad for her and followed her cause she seemed to have potential.
Then today I'm doing archive reps, and it turns out she's a small tier lolcow on trash cause she has twitter mental breakdowns over minor shit.

She put all her eggs on a vtubing career instead of continuing her older persona and hasn't been the same since. What sparked the VA-deletion arc was her being made a pariah on twitter, as well as some rrats that I'd not bother to do. She streams at her own pace, which is already somewhat suspect, considering that She only ever plays Genshin consistently.

I'm of the opinion that she needs to let go of the resentment she has for her previous work, that is all. If she lets go, and let people talk about VA again without sperging over and banning fans, she'll be a lot happier, and thus her streaming will be affected for the better.

Does anyone know the method or software people use to improve their mic quality? I've got a pretty decent mic with a basic Scarlett interface, however it picks up everything
I know there is noise gates which you can somehow use to prevent the mic coming through if its audio is below a certain threshold, but unless every good streamer lives in perfect quiet with everything in their house oiled up and a silent PC I'd expect to be hearing stuff other than their voice or keyboard clacking.
Sometimes something fucks up and the mic quality drops and you actually do start hearing shit on streams, so there's gotta be more to it than a simple single mic on/off threshold trigger
