It's honestly surprising how long it took them to get males and they definitively missed out for not doing so the girls did pretty well, some really well even, but they didn't seem like they would grow all that much considering how much audience they shared with Hololive and smaller corpos, which all focused on the same CGDCT and GFE/coomerbait tropes, but the males really tapped on an untouched market (one that was way bigger than I imagined, even when I was being positive) and are looking like they will continue growing pretty strongly for a good while, probably more than the girls did.

The male audience is much bigger than the female audience but luxiem has the advantage of having a monopoly the same was HoloEN does.
NijiEN is actually quite competitive in the domestic North american male audience. Most English vtuber watchers who aren't complete casuals know who they are at this point because all of them stream at NA friendly times. A lot of the whales of the community have already been converted which is why superchat wise the Niji Girls do alright despite 1/6th the viewership.
Without a large clipping presence to translate clips its doubtful that NijiEN girls will ever match HoloEN views. That is unless HoloTW comes out and then we will see a large drop off in viewers the same way Korone's/JP/ID viewers dropped with the expansion of HoloEN.

I was with you up to this part. SEA mentality is way different from Western or even JP mentality where despite their obnoxious levels of national pride, they also have this weird contradictory attitude that foreign products are better. If HoloTW ever happened, aside from the initial interest in the beginning, most of the old viewers and even the newer ones will gravitate to HoloEN and HoloJP in the long run. Even the last part of your statement isn't that accurate since HoloEn ended up funneling new viewers to the main branch hence why many Holos have enjoyed a gradual increase in their median views. In fact, more than 1/3rd of HoloJP has a median greater than 10k prior to Youtube fucking things up.

Why do people insist on about this as if it's a bad thing? Nijisanji's entire brand is being easygoing and willing to accommodate anyone, while offering the Vtuber that suits every persons needs. It's the whole reason why so many of their major successful events are entirely organized by the livers themselves, or why they let someone like Rinne stream once every couple of months with low viewership or hell, let Roa stay with them even though she hasn't streamed in a fucking year.
