I don't even think it's a matter of "securing her future" per se. Towa certainly understands the value of money (iirc she said something about saving up all her earnings and not really spending that much of it, and we know she isn't exactly from a well-off family). If the numbers we came up with indicate anything, she's making some really good money, especially as a female and at her age. What we do know is that Towa usually likes to have some kind of reason for streaming the things that she did, something that struck me when she was talking about her love of esports and how she wanted to be an "idol" for esports, showing the drama, the hard work, etc. and having people experience the life through her. In that regard, the idea of pursuing various skill sets is also an "arc" in that regard, of showing the struggle of someone trying to get certified in something to do some job or another (my guess is that given her past job experience she probably did this exercise before and can thus relate to it). I don't think hololive is going anywhere just yet, and likely she still gets her share of royalties even if something happens(she did invest her money and time into it after all, and it feels like that anything that Cover doesn't financially get involved in is usually a lot more economically favorable to the talent than not).

So in Japan it's complicated, while the trademark of "Tokoyami Towa" is owned by Cover per se, you may not actually be able to trademark the name itself due to the fact that it is used to refer to "Towa." Because of this legal complication my bet is that the initial contract probably denotes out cases like this about royalties and what have you. Otherwise that's just asking for legal trouble, and C*c* seems to have made it out without any legal issues so I suspect that that sort of thing has been taken care of.
