For me the best way to deal with Gen-chan was to not give him room to breathe. Fight fire with fire as they say, but with this strategy you're not really allowed to make mistakes. The lightning counter makes the 3rd phase a joke. I dread what she'll do against Fukuro and Isshin, but I believe in our stubborn rose

She got through Cuphead over multiple streams, pretty sure she can do this. She needs to manage her posture better, don't waste it attempting to parry his flurry of attacks when you can just step away or try to have it broken just so it resets which almost always resulted in her taking massive damage.

Once she understands that you can make the fight a thousand times easier by poking his hp down to ~80% before focusing on poise damage, she'll be fine with Genichiro. She's just demanding a level of perfection from herself that's wholly unnecessary because she doesn't understand what the fight's supposed to be teaching. Owl, as much as he gives people trouble, is just another "reduce their hp first" fight. He mainly just fucks people up because of the gunpowder move, but there'll be less of a learning curve there than she's had with Genichiro. Unless chat manages to backseat her into the True Owl fight, of course.

I honestly can't imagine her beating Demon of Hatred or Isshin in a reasonable amount of time, though. Those are going to end up being weekend endurance streams.

my bad, it was miki and not ria, there are 2 streams archived on nya if you are interested, she didn't play it that much which is a shame. This and her persona 4 playthrough as Ria were some of the games I looked forward to the most, sadly both ended on 2 episodes. She should be able to go back to Yakuza one day but I doubt niji will ever get Atlus permissions for the EN branch.

Agreed. At first I thought it was cute how she got distracted by chat but it does lead to mediocre gameplay, especially in challenging games. Also when she's tired from her wagie job, her gaming skills really tank.
I've got to be honest that watching her bash her head into wall fighting the same Sekiro boss for 10+ hours isn't very fun. It's not the same as the satisfaction I felt when she kept on trying against a hard Cuphead boss. In Cuphead, she would gradually get better and figure out the boss's patterns over time. Also her enjoyment of the music made those streams more fun. Maybe it's just me but she doesn't feel as invested into Sekiro.

I skipped the collab because I always rather watch an all-POV compilation and besides, despite Rosemi being (sadly) mostly ignored her attention is with her collab partners.

We can all agree Rosemi's zatsudans and more creative projects are where she shines the most, so I don't imagine I am being very controversial by saying her game choice is often weak. And when she gets stuck somewhere she stubbornly tries and tries even when it gets boring and she gets upset and tired, mostly because I think she feels she invested too much time to quit. Unless she's playing something simple, it seems her conversation stops and she just responds to chat, leading us to this split-attention problem. For the Sekiro stream, I watched intently for the last 2 hours and managed to make her laugh, but Rosemi really needed more life and gourd seeds to make the boss fight easier on herself. Sekiro is sadly very easy to backseat and I don't wanna type in chat to go fight Lady Butterfly and the drunk fatass, and I hope Genny drilled in the fundamentals of the game into her, because I can't imagine watching shit like the ape, or Father Owl. I played it on release so my memory is hazy but i think some gourd seeds, skill scrolls and mini bosses are decently hidden if you are only moving forward to the boss of the zone. not the super secret tier of hidden but pretty missable if you are too focused on finding your way out of the zone. and yeah, afaik there are 4 endings, 2 being based around one dialogue and 2 requiring some additional footwork to trigger them.
