Today's Nene and Kroni's poll literally makes zero sense.
Even accounting that viewers from connected devices (Smart TV, Roku, Chromecast, etc) are as low as zero or aren't even counted (publicly available viewer share stats tells it's about 30%-50% in general for YouTube), its inconceivable to have 100% viewer churn of 6k over 12minutes, or 20% churn of 22k over 2minutes for kroni and Nene respectively.
In comparison, twitch polls are lucky to hit 20% participation within half an hour.
Views, Subgrowth, SCs, Likes, and other metrics seems not much affected either, only ccs are much lower (sometimes as high as 50%-70% of estimated/anticipated)

new hypothesis. might be testable with the imminent id3 debut
last year's cull happened after id2 debut. EN "recline" happened again after irys & en2 debut. JP "cull" happened after holox debut. those sub culls probably marked a bunch of viewers as bot viewers. but it doesn't apply to ccv for a while because they probably have to trip different number of flags. that karaoke relay where the view funnelling can look like bot behaviour might be the last flag for a lot of the viewers.
to test this, need to track the total sub culls during debuts. wait until debut buff wears off and ccv normalize. watch for mass recline on new gen and see if the loss is proportional to the culled subs.
