Even if some members went for meta shit or they are decent at the game, they can still get fucked by the random items or other random factors, not to mention is a team effort, so if other team member does poorly then their effort won't matter as much.

In the end of the day they are all there to have fun than anything really serious.

It will be a filthy casual tournament, they have items enabled which means that all it takes to win is luck. Also they use all the unbalanced tracks. The only balanced track in the game is baby park and it should be the only track allowed.
