Personally i think there are a lot of ways Holotalk could improve its format, the main one would be that they stop being live that way Kiara can pay an editor to add some subtitles or add them herself. the worst part about Holotalk is that it is literally a talk show where the intended audience can't really understand 90% of what it is said and Kiara herself barely translates anything, she can have a full conversation for 15 minutes with the host and she translates the entirety of it in a few words at most because she summarizes it, of course you can still get the idea of what it has been said but the substance of the personality of the guest is completely lost this way

This, the pre-recorded format would solve so many issues, and it'd allow the show to be more concise as Kiara wouldn't have to break the flow of discussion. But for someone interested in doing multi-language content, she has said on multiple occasions that she hates doing subtitles herself, part of the reason why her German reading video series is dead.

This is just one of Ina's artworks. The amount of effort she put into this pales in comparison to anything you've ever done in life.
Also how does doing a holotalk take "effort"? All you have to do is ask the guest to get on discord and then ask them generic questions probably stolen from twitter. The only part that takes any work is translation, which isn't much effort.
Learning another language isn't hard, it just requires that you have a lot of free time to do it. Over 50% of europeans can speak a second language, not hard at all to do.

The reason why the questions are bad are two-fold, she can't ask actual hard hitting questions and she isn't an EOP.

The first is obvious, they have to maintain character and company approval. "What do you dislike about your job" is basically asking for backlash and "how that pusst smell" would get smacked down.

The latter of not being an EOP means she only needs to actually watch a stream to figure them out and doesn't know the things other people might want to know before watching.

2) Re-read my post. Learning a language does not take "hard work" it just takes a huge time investment. Learning a language isn't like learning math or a subject in school. The difference is that you can passively learn language. You can put hours into staring at math, but if you don't understand and practice it you won't learn it. With language you can just learn it without any effort beyond just listening.

I think Kiara should make it less structured and more casual. Some like Sora might need booked further in advance, but for the most part, it would work better as a weekly or biweekly talkshow where there isn't a strict guest of the week, but a few that are there to share stories, updates or participate in 'filler' segments; honestly a podcast format wouldn't be bad either, with rotating members (aside from Kiara whose the host).
This would then sort of solve the issue of the future of holotalk: her future aspirations for it were to possibly interview the holostars. Ok great, what next? Go back to doing individual interviews with the holos you've already interviewed or start interviewing vtubers from other companies or indies.
By having a casual rotating cast, it would be easier to naturally include others without having to worry as much about what to do when the list runs out, or who has and hasn't been interviewed. If that's an issue for someone like Pekora, then it could be a lower amount of people.

I think in terms of questions, she should have a set list of questions she plans to ask, and just let it be an outline that leads to a natural back-and-forth. If she runs out of questions she can ask chat, but relying on the audience for all of it isn't the best idea.
When you look at other vtuber talkshows and talkshows in general, love em or hate em, they have a defined identity that the host goes by, whether relaxed and casual or more structured and formal. I think she's still trying to figure out what she wants holotalk to be, and it'll take time and experience for her to find out what that is.

I Agree that Ina puts a shit ton of effort into her streams and people underestimate her a lot, but translating in real time what other person said in one language directly to the other is not as easy as just learning another language, specially in cases where one language structure is completely different than the one is being translated into like english and japanese

Mori and Ina both speak japanese but their fluency isn't very good, plus their both busy with IRL shit

The real problem isn't the questions, it's the language barrier. For all us EOPs know, Kiara and her guests could be having great moments, but they're lost in translation. Kiara translates well, but she only does it in big "chunks". She'll spend like 1-2 minutes talking to the guest in pure japanese, then 30-60 seconds relaying what was just said in English. During that time, she loses some of the momentum she had built up with the guest.
It's a similar problem to her early days when people complained she was speaking too much Japanese - in reality the problem isn't the quantity, it's the distribution. For contrast, EOPs and JOPs love Pikamee because she flips back and forth between the languages extremely fast, with no dead air between them.
It's not an easy thing to do, but finding a way to balance the two languages in a way that feels natural to the viewer and the guest would do wonders for Holotalk.
