Guys I want to stop being a clip nig. How do I learn just enough to be able to watch JP chuubas? Any good video courses (I'm lazy and videos are the easiest to learn from)

If you were to try speaking Japanese do you really need grammar and kanji? Can’t you just learn to speak it and interpret?

If you are already saying that you only want to watch videos you are never going to learn a new language, specially one as hard as nihongo. You better spent your time and effort in another thing, really. Also, if you don't have another reason aside from watching JP chuubas you re doomed EOP chaama

I feel like that's bullshit advice. I've watched quite a lot of anime and can only understand like 20% of a talk stream at most in some cases.

You just need to go to the nearest Japanese community in your area, approach the head honcho, and give him a firm dogeza.
He'll realize immediately that you're very serious about becoming Japanese at this point and will take you under his wing to teach you the ancient ways of his people.

Here's the real way to learn enough japanese to understand chuubas.

You first need to learn Katakana and Hiragana, this one is really fucking easy so I won't spoonfeed you that. If your primary objetive is to just watch streams, you need to go full blast on vocab with a tiny bit of grammar after you know enough. What I personally did was use Torii SRS (You can also use Anki) to learn the core 10k words. Ignore grammar (for now) and kanji. If you keep doing your reps, you will eventually start to understand some words here and there. You'll probably will need to learn grammar at a certain point, so more complicated sentences actually make sense but the most important part is to do your fucking reps. This is probably a highly inefficient way to lean jap but if you do it the "proper" way (AKA learning Kanji, Grammar and vocab with books and video tutorials) you will likely burn out after a few months, like me.

1. Learn hiragana and katakana
2. Learn grammar through a grammar guide and use anki for vocab. Kanji is optional but is pretty useful.
3. Start reading and watching shit.

>> No.13812760

Vocabulary reps and Japanese Ammo with Misa for in-depth grammar explanations. Graded readers to further cement obtained grammar and to learn more words at ease. At some point, start watching programming and reading material intended for native children.

I pretty much dived right into native material aimed at children after I finished learning every grammar point and most of the vocabulary from N5-N4. Right now, I'm still trying to build vocabulary by reading, watching, and Anki. Each will reinforce each other over time.
