They need to actually work, the first 6 months are important to build your audience and with the constant breaks while they seem little it turns off new viewers and make regulars annoyed, Council was a failrue in terms of numbers and girls (personally), I hope they drop the chuuni lore bullshit and have a more consistent schedule, while Gen 6 has some archetypes for the characters atleast one of them will break it, hopefully council do the same and stop feeling generic.

Some of Council's flubs are due to choices on Cover on multiple fronts - dragged out the debuts too long which killed the "oh shit new holos!" hype and also gave time for people to build up expectations too high. See all the Mumei shit how people hoped real bad she would be some GSG nerd - she heard that loud and clear and attempted to actually work in her theme initially, and management clearly went "no, you MUST play minecraft and nintendo games, you MUST treat your audience like it's 5 years old."

Other flubs are more on unspoken things like Bae's personality not matching the lore at all and feeling really forced, Sana being "welp apparently dark skin really is a massive debuff" and other things in the background. Factor in Omega also being a "fucking what, why" deal and the whole thing completely lacks that magical serendipitous feeling in the air Myth had.

Oh and finally basically all of them besides maybe Bae/Fauna have shown to have a level of interest/commitment to this as if it's just some little janky thing to do on the side instead of really get into this as a role/lifestyle for themselves. When the streamer herself feels transparently like she's just clocking into this as a 9 to 5 deal getting in her required hours dragging through the week, well fuck, do you THINK that fucking inspires hype, loyality and dedication in the audience? Hell no. With Myth, most of them literally needed this to turn their lives around, it was rags-to-riches sweet cinderella stories for almost all of them. You really don't get that kind of impression of appreciation from Council whatsoever. The Myths went into this not knowing if it was gonna be successful or not so put in the effort and care to help it succeed, and reflected their gratitude/appreciation in their content - Council is full of people who didn't really-really need it but just wanted a gravy train. It might take EN management some time to learn/figure out their bearings of how to filter out golddiggers (of which several are in Council) for the next round because clearly they fucked up this time, we got some Ayames JUST like JP Gen 2 has a bunch of fuckups as well.

Meanwhile HoloX did the opposite blindsiding us to ride that initial shock wave and that is clearly the way to go, literally the most successful pace for Holos ever so far, and also being good solid designs/voices so far with no immediate yabs like Nene/Aloe last go. So far..

She didn't actually say that, I'm just paraphrasing what basically is inevitably concluded by many here. I mean, she was always last in the subs before debuting, and was far in last before taking her month break (which didn't help one bit). Just like how Flare tails everyone else in Gen 3 and it was actually by a huge huge margin just like Sana for a while, until they redid her model (she literally will not go back to her original gecko-faced one, she said so herself) and have been slowly whitewashing her. It'd possibly be considered offensive to whitewash Sana but I dunno, they could. I think it's really Sana's hair that messes things up, the outline of her head looks bald from the side and it's weird. She just needs to let her fucking hair down and people will gosling like crazy.

The only one that really grinded things out and stood the test of time is IMO Shuba, while the others have by now for various reasons all gotten into the habit of just not streaming much, or really seeming to feel like full-time members. Even Aqua broke down eventually which is really sad, as she's one of my absolute favorites but cracked under pressure. Conversely Ayame was one of the good ones in Gen2's first year, was really into it and streamed a lot and now.. well..

Basically Myth, besides Gura as a crazy outlier breakout who got onto some higher elite level of Youtube almost nobody touches, manages to be kind of similar to most of the JPs at this point in growth and income.

However, the English speaking audience is about 10x the size of Japanese speakers. So, Japanese are natively about 10x more interested in this subject per capita than the outside world. Which sounds about right, I mean they invented this whole thing.

In fairness, I'm not sure that there can be much to be done to win over newcomers. HoloMyth basically shot the company and the vtuber scene to heights never before reached, not just "right place right time" but thanks to the talent, to where there's nowhere left to really go.
Even if the company were to somehow get more "it girls" or starving artist-types like how some of Myth were when they started, I dont think things would be that much different than today. Maybe if EN2/Irys debuted earlier?
