Gone Fishin' Edition

Welcome to VShojo+! A thread to discuss VShojo, and any vtubers frequently associated with them.

It's Friday afternoon and that means it's time for another episode of DND! If you're late to the campaign then you're in luck, we're only 3 sessions in and it's been pretty light on plot so far so it'll be easy to catch up if you'd like. Or if you just want to jump in right now then here's a quick rundown of everything that's happened to date. One day, seemingly randomly, a group of four psycho weirdos woke up atop a mountain. Mei, an incredibly angry old woman wielding an axe (Froot). Nia, an impressively bulky but dimwitted catgirl (Vei). Looseal, an edgelord Redditor proficient with the sword cane (Nyan). And Sugma, a 3 foot tall mascot with all the awareness of a bowl of jam (Haruka). These four unlikely heroes were then given a crash course in the game's mechanics by way of an extensive tutorial dungeon with an interesting boss fight before making their way down the mountain to a weird fucked up tree that looked kind of interesting. Along the way they took a detour into a cave, encountering a small number of very scary-sounding enemies. Said enemies were easily pulverized to put it lightly, before everyone begins wailing on Sugma in an attempt to convince her that a messy bloodstain was in fact a living breathing person. And then a hostage was rescued! It was very strange. They finished making their way down the mountain, eventually making it to a small cottage that the kidnapped man lived in where they were not-too-subtly told that the next session will involve fishing. So look forward to that today!

In other recent happenings Mouse had Mel on for SotD last night and the two proved to once again care little about the time as the episode went on for a very extensive 5 hours. 2 more than every other episode! Topics of discussion were varied, but a common one was mental health, making it a great companion piece to Nyan and Mouse's collab on Tuesday. It was also very interesting to hear Mel talk about a lot of things from her own perspective as one of the trailblazers for vtubing in the west. A definite recommend for a background noise VOD if you missed it live.

Other than that, today's brought us some more GTA, and some Pokemon from a lot of people. But since the big thing today is DND that's almost definitely what will be dominating discussion today. So remember to keep things comfy by ignoring bait, and being excellent to each other as we go through this last hurrah before a quiet weekend and whatever huge shit is happening next week.

Something Mel was very vague about was something she's been working on for 2 years involving 30 people that she hasn't told anyone about before, not even Mouse. Mouse - I feel like she said what she would be playing yesterday but I totally forgot. So just "a game" as the schedule says.
Hime - Playing Neon Nights. Supposedly an indie game some vtuber made that she appears in as a boss.
Mel - No idea. Schedule says there's a stream today. Could be Minecraft, but sounds like she's scaling back her time on it to avoid becoming addicted. At least on-stream.
Silver? - Missed her stream with her brother and Mamavale on Wednesday, but it was rescheduled to today. No word from her since so I'd say it's a 50/50.

Yeah and she canceled because of a fucked up schedule. As of Wednesday she was still ready to do DND and it's always better to tend to your health before a stream. And everyone always acts like the rest of the group was against DND. She may have helped push them into it but they didn't have to commit again and it's weird to think that like Froot and Haruka weren't every bit as enthusiastic. It's because Silver did have more of an openly-lewd bend to her last year until autumn of 2020 rolled around. August-ish, her lewdness started dropping off but most people just knew her for being open about having a big chest or one-off things that had happened on her Discord. Compared to most other vtubers (who are idolized for being seiso), Silver came off as much more frank about sexuality. But even them, compared to Mel and Mouse, Silver being sexual began and ended with her having a cleavage farm. Most Lewdcast episodes would have Silver cowering in a corner while Mel and Mouse went off on a conversation about frotting or whatever. Even now, Silver dropped the "combination of wholesome and lewd" descriptor she used to run with (along with the "pastel goth", she's just "wholesome" now).

It was less of a rrat because Silver did used to joke about sex on stream, but not quite true of her either because titty jokes aside she was pretty seiso compared to everyone else.

I don't think either are true. I like her model, but I think they emphasized the model movement and motion, intentionally, only in one area. Compared to other models that exist, Hime's is now pretty dated and limited. Her design works for what it is (the new outfit helps), but could a redesign into something that isn't a meme that Hime's Grandmother can work with outside of a shitpost.

anny thinks she was cringe because she was nervous as fuck when nyan joined and barely talked, nothing actually happened and a normal weekday in nyan stream is probably more cringe but anny think she's a failure for that apparently, also nyan is anny0s idol (not in a jp way) so it's pretty normal to freak out when she met her live but this also make it worse because she fhe was "cringe" with said idol

Yeah I mean her mood fluctuated, Haruka showing up in chat improved it quite a bit, but towards the end she read one message that was like "why is anny quiet" and then she said something like "I don't know, I'm sorry" even though she was just focusing on her art. The whole chat was just like "it's fine, we're just vibing", but I guess it didn't matter. She ended the stream with "Sorry for being weird". She's just overthinking things and getting self conscious, I enjoyed the whole stream even if she had a few vulnerable moments.
