Ok? I was on /jp/ for the vtuber thread since 2017, and the usual gatekeeping that would've worked was already waning, then the massive invasion from Hololive's incline made it impossible.

2018-2019 the thread would get people from /wsg/ or /vg/ at worst, maybe one or two random people from Youtube. Late 2019-2020 it was traffic from already "compromised" boards like /a/,/v/,/pol/ and others, on top of Youtube, reddit, and Twitter. Gatekeeping became impossible because vtubers got too popular, you can't exactly have be the minority and tell the majority to fuck off and lurk more (this is why the /jp/ Nijisanji thread is so hostile and mostly "oldfags"). On top of that all of the newfags just sat in /hlg/ and global eventually anyway, so /vt/ was always destined to just be a run off of those cloistered hugboxes. I don't know what your obsession with saviorfagging is to be honest since it has nothing or very little to do with this.

People purposely reply to bait for fun. There's definitely a newfag factor and you cannot stop this, it's an inevitable of a decently popular imageboard.
