They definitely weren't making characters specifically for the people they hire until Council. The only ones who really fit particularly well before that were Okayu and Korone, where Fubuki was probably scouting for a cat and the one they found happened to know a good dog.

Myth looks like the hiring and design teams didn't even communicate. They just got five models for five people and had to make do. Gura would be an easy enough decision and Calli probably followed because it would be easy for her to do underworld-y stuff, but the other three must have been shots in the dark. Ina and Amelia probably should have been swapped.

I cannot even fathom wanting to hear a British accent on an vtuber. I don't really listen to vtubers in English anyway, but if I am going to, it needs to either be American or Canadian accents. Any other native English accent sounds awful on the ears. It is so jarring that I cannot imagine anybody but actual Brits or Aussies or Kiwis or Irishmen would want to hear their shitty accents on a chuuba. I could literally never feel anything but disgust for their voices and would not be able to get over it. I don't know how any of my countrymen would able to stand it.

But I suppose that's how Brits and the rest feel about American accents. So despite all of what I just said, I suppose I can sympathize with an actual Brit wanting to hear a British accent on a chuuba, but it sounds so goddamn awful to my ears,

Kronii's proportions are bizarre and I'm not even a huge fan of her hair or massive eyes but she grew on me combined with the personality. The actual reports on how much control myth had on their character designs are borderline contradictory, but if we take everyone at face value then the most likely thing that happened is that everyone had the opportunity to ask for a specific papa or mama, and cover at least tried to make it happen. How much control they had over their actual characters is debatable, but it probably wasn't that much considering what Kiara and Mori have said about their designs.
