HoloLive will become the WWE of VTubing.
They're the big name that lost their spark, but their reputation from their prime is keeping them afloat well past their expiry date. You will be flooded with new stars, but the same 3 old guys will come out to keep viewership afloat.
Smaller Vtubing agencies will attempt to copy them for a while, and then the whole scene will die for 10 years until a niche competitor comes out of the woodwork and challenges the squeaky clean image of the top guy. Indies will maintain their small, devoted audience and stay true to what they are. But you will always be drawn back into HoloLive when Pekora and Korone come out of retirement for ONE LAST APEX STREAM.

Haachama's arc was objectively higher quality than generic video game playthroughs. It was also very beneficial for her channel and hololive. Japs and EOPs were eating that storyline up. Whether or not you personally like what she was doing is irrelevant. This was a garbage business move for Cover.

Honestly as Coco mentioned it's just nature taking its course. Like with investment portfolios. When you start small it makes sense to be as aggressive and unpredictable as possible, since that leads to the most growth and you don't have much to lose anyway.
But once you've amassed considerable capital, your main goal is no longer just fast growth but also to maintain your current capital, so it makes business sense to slow down, and depending on whether Yagoo thinks Hololive can get even larger or not, eventually transition into a "rest and vest" model.

This has happened repeatedly in history and Hololive isn't really the exception. If we truly want new, experimental, potentially dangerous but innovative content, we may have to look into... other smaller vtubers and its companies...
