After rolling that Mio hat, I decided to roll ten hats and record how many rolls it took between each hat:
93 (Okayu)

In ten rolls, I got one hat for ~every 58.8 10-rolls.
Which means I would need to sell each hat for a minimum of $588,000 just to break even.
At first I thought I was lucky, but then that 8th roll happened and deer lord was it a slog. The takos have betrayed me.

speaking of Shazam, I remember trying it on something I figured it couldn't get unreleased Arabic pop song, ended up being sung by another artist, completely different instrumentation, only copy in the wild is a shitty 128 kbps MP3 that's clearly been recompressed 10 times over, etc. and it got it in the past.
I tried to "break" it at one point, it "correctly" ID'd e.g. Green Hill Zone playing on an actual Genesis to either Sonic Generations or Mania's soundtrack.
just tried it now again now, it "struggles" with Silence of Daylight for ~10 seconds before it returning the Konami Kukeiha Club OST.
only thing you can reasonably confuse it with at this point is something like a cover of Megalovania if you're specifically looking for the right one as the "answer"

The first file is indeed "bit-perfect" in the sense that is a perfect rip of the CD. HOWEVER, this CD had pre-emphasis added, which was a technique used to increase the signal-to-noise in higher frequencies back in the middle ages. They would boost the higher frequencies before transmitting or storing them. Because of this, CD players from that era (and onwards, but no one has CD players anymore so who cares) would apply a de-emphasis filter to restore the audio to its original form. The CD this flac was ripped from had pre-emphasis applied to it, as signaled by the PRE-EMPHASIS flag in the VORBIS_COMMENT metadata block. Now, for some reason, modern audio players decide it's a perfectly fine idea to ignore the flag and reproduce the file as is, causing it to sound way brighter than it should. So, in order to get the original sound back you need to manually de-emphasise it or get a player that supports doing so on the fly.

As far as channels go, nope. Same two stereo channels for either file, and nothing regarding the stereo balance would've changed. There would technically be some parts "missing" from either, but channels ain't it. This was all I would've told you had the answer not been delivered:

It does actually match the official length of at least two, if not several more, released recordings - note, I said File #1 was bit-perfect. But yes, where is it ripped from? A rip from the original US CD release from 1983, they were pressed in Japan. "35 8P-11" is what you would've seen on the underside of the CD, towards the center.
The first file would've sounded like the second to anyone who would've been listening to it until the MP3 was made popular. They do quite obviously sound different, don't they?
The change in volume level is a side effect of properly applying de-emphasis. The first file will probably sound louder on something like a phone speaker, or well balanced speakers. The second will sound louder if you're a bass-head, because the first file has comparatively no bass.

Wikipedia says 5:57 and the file is 6:04. This was what made me suspect we were talking about CD rips in the first place. The comment on the gain was after a quick metadata check with ffmpeg.
However, the volume was not the main difference: the EQ was completely fucked. And since you said it was "bit-perfect" I assumed the files hadn't been tampered with. So I started looking into ways to apply EQ to a flac without modifying the actual file and that's when I found out about the pre-emphasis tag. From there, I found the album fairly easily.

That PRE_EMPHASIS tag is only meaningful when you're using something that does something with it, like you said. iTunes and Windows Media Player will remove pre-emphasis during playback if they see pre-emphasis indicated in the CD's TOC. I think WMP's "converter" output won't remove it but iTunes will.
File 2 was just a copy made with the pre-emphasis filtered out (foo_deemph), so it was technically "EQ'd", but only to "fix it".
File #1 and #2 will sound identical if you play them back in something that checks for that tag foobar with any number of components meant for that, maybe dbpoweramp.
