Her graduating anytime soon makes no sense to begin with, if she does, she would literally burn her entire career to this point, she would lose all her contacts and friends in the industry, she would not be able to sing in front of a large audience which is what she loves the most, she would no longer be able to collaborate publicly with beatMario and other major figures she admires.

There's no such a thing as "bad announcement kanji", it all depends on the specific wording. What gave it away in Coco's case wasn't that she used 大事な in the thumbnail or 大切な in the title, it's more that the full text in the thumbnail said "important announcement from Kiryu Coco", and the title said "important announcement from Kiryu Coco to everyone".
It's the formal tone, not the specific kanji used to mean "important".
For all I know she could be graduating, but the real sign will be the title when the frame goes up, not a tweet saying "tomorrow is an important day! I have an announcement! smiley face" and a cute gif to go with it.
Much like how Aqua had a very serious 重大発表 in her title, but nobody cared because it was a 3D Live. It's unlikely that the big announcement at the end of a mini concert would be "I'm leaving, guys! Wooooo!"
