Viewers - how do you like your game sized?

If the streamer is playing something with loads of stuff on screen, would you rather they obscured some of the less useful info with model/chat but had game fullscreen, or made it slightly smaller in the overlay, and had none of it covered?

It's a very deliberately minimalist design but I think if you want an idea of how much screen real estate should be game and how much should be you/your branding, look at what Corpse does.

Depends on how oriented towards skillful excellence you're shooting for. If you're out to demonstrate mastery and flex on the game, then you can feel free to take care in overlay construction to not hide game elements. If you're just having funs, just make sure that the main action is mostly visible, viewers are there for YOU.

sometimes it's hard to keep on trucking with streaming. it's difficult since streaming itself is mostly fun and something good to work towards, but it's difficult when real life problems keep adding up. i'm not sure how to handle it, since i want to keep streaming like my friends do and it makes me feel jealous at the thought i might have to quit because of outside influences, especially when i try to put in a lot of work and care for streams, even when it doesn't always pan out. it makes me sad sometimes to watch other chuubas getting to go through with their plans and hanging out with their friends on stream. i'm trying my best to keep up too, but as soon as it feels like i am starting to get better more and more things stack up against me. i don't want to quit, but it feels bad having to cancel or move streams around all the time because of things out of my control, and it feels like my streaming friends have been wanting to hang out with me less because i can't catch up with streams as much and my mood has been in the gutters. i want to keep moving forward and not let all my work and effort so far be for nothing because i have to go onto an indefinite hiatus or quit because things can't just chill for more than a week.

what i have been earning from streaming + my usual work has started to bump me over the poverty line, which has been a big blessing. i've been able to pay for a few more things like treating my friend/art mama for her birthday and paying for medication and vet bills easier. the goal has been to make enough between my normal work + commissions + streamer income so i can move somewhere a little bit safer and take care of the outside animals better. i want to earn that right however, so knowing when i am doing something wrong or right for streams is helpful. and knowing that the hard work and effort i put into something is always appreciated and makes the heart feel better-- even if it doesn't always work as intended or wasn't too great of an idea to begin with. family problems are the other half of what makes streaming harder, with the news of even more drug problems coming up in the past few days. i want to try keep working past the setbacks though, as coming up with ideas for streams is fun and getting to be an anime girl for a couple hours a week fulfills that weeb dream from middle/high school. i'll keep doing my best despite any set backs so i can earn the right to make this hobby something to help supplement my income while also being a bit of escapism.
sorry for the blogposting, it's difficult to talk about these issues directly as it makes the other person feel awkward and i hate that but sometimes i just need to get these fears out. and since my 2/2 mysteryposts have been used up the two kittens vet appointment went well today. the bill was almost $200 for their exam/medication/cremation for the third one that passed away this weekend (roaming dogs and lack of a real backyard makes burials almost impossible unfortunately) but i was able to cover the cost of it and still have enough money for rent thanks to my twitch payout from last month, so thanks to anyone and everyone who has given me support so far

I don't know how MMD itself works, but it looks like dances and the like are made up of three files not counting the models: motion, sound, and camera. You can import those into Koikatsu and get the same effect with the VMD plugin.

something i was thinking about while in the shower
there are a few chuubas who's original designs/characters i never really thought fit their personalities all that well but still do well
if you had anyone that you think would fit better with a different design, who would it be and why?
like i've always found meats cave woman aesthetic odd when she could have gone for pretty much anything else and still done as good or better, but i do understand her design was heavily inspired by Lum and wanted something similar without being rip off, which is interesting to me because lum's own design is a sort of contrast to her personality in the show so theres kind of a parallel.
i also found when bonemiser switched from white len babi to his goblin design the goblin avatar meshed really well
i don't want to make people menhera about their design choices not fitting, just food for thought about design meshing and peoples reasons for rebrands in general i suppose.

I've been thinking of doing very casual reading streams with an avatar, so I figured it should be something that fits a certain vibe.
I was thinking something like a wandering warrior, sharing stories by a campfire or makeshift shelter.
If it was historical, then something like a ronin or samurai, and a STALKER/apocalyptic-scavenger for a modern look.
It'd probably have a covered or abstracted face since I don't like bishounen looks, and an abstract or non-human face would be more appealing than a grizzled, older face.

I don't think it'd make for a very appealing stream though, so it's just a pipe dream for now.

It's not that it doesn't work, but that it's a bit harder to find things thematically linked.

For instance, I did a pokemon stream a few months back, and bought a pokemon overlay set. It looked SO much better than my standard overlays (made myself), but it was a generic purchase.

I probably should have done some more research on what was available before picking my avatar, because unless I want to go down a "everything is discordant" route, it's looking like I might need to commission people specifically.

It isn’t that model isn’t what I wanted, but more that it’s at a point where it can’t grow with me. Just because it isn’t working for me now doesn’t mean it was a failure :D. A lot of what I experimented with content wise with my model didn’t work out for me and that’s okay! I got my model before I really interacted with the western vtubing community, hell before even realizing there were English speaking vtubers. I kept mine simple, cheap, and down to earth because it was just there to help with my anxiety a little as I do my voice reps. :D

I thought a lot about what I want to change, but that’s because I know what I want to try next.

A black mage. Their design is so simple, but so iconic and it just makes me happy to look at. Wouldn't be able to just copy the design, but the basic principle of big robes and wizard hat with a shadowed face and glowing eyes is something I enjoy greatly. A face that is memorable enough that allows me to dress up in all sorts of beautiful historic dresses while still being recognizable. I've also drawn up things but my art style isn't very anime like (more like Archie or Giselle Lagace) and I don't think people would like that very much unfortunately. Thanks for coming to the stream if anyone did. Won 4 games in a row after a shaky start while I learned how to pilot the team. Competitive pokemon is really hard for me to "entertain with" because I end up just blurting my thought process which makes zero sense unless you already have a lot of comp pokemon knowledge. So I was actually really happy to go through the quasi zatsu at the end of the stream where I just talked for ~35m without a game as crutch, I think that's the most I've done so definitely a small personal milestone!

Thank you! Sometimes I feel as though trying my best still has me coming up short. I tried to push harder yesterday in the Supernatural workout because I felt I did not exhaust myself as much as I could have. I do not exactly know my limits yet but I want to get there without backing away from the edge. I am trying atleast.
