True but not true. We should have already reached the point where there is almost 2000 ENVtubers, maybe more but there isn't much quality there (not talking about assets but streamer potential).
And niches are a good call but you can't really force yourself on a niche, it's not enjoyable to watch someone that doesn't like what they do most of the time. The risk I see is closing your content and future possibilities, if you rely too much on the niche aspect you don't get viewers interested in (You) but viewers interested in whatever niche you fill, and they can always switch to whatever there was before, that happens a lot with other content creators. It's a bit shameless to add to my on question but I don't see much discussion about those topics, at least not enough discussion about it.

I try to keep concept creation in line with the character, sometimes the personality comes first, sometimes it's their appearance. I guess one of the concepts I had in my mind once was to make something with inspiration on Treants, maybe keeping it more or less humanoid, or maybe more human with "tree" parts, that would need to be more fleshed out though. No idea on content possibilities because I didn't bring this one forward as much, not being able to draw what's in your head has its problems.

Well, considering we are in a timeloop of 2006 age Youtube, some people start as something and then they can branch out as they gain a viewer base.

I think there is a tree vtuber but she creeps me out. Plant based vtubing might be the next thing considering everyone is an animal these days.

So basically I got invited as one of the early consulters to a unique vtuber project, which was very exciting since it happened due to me just being in the right place at the right time meeting people I never thought I would, even though that "right place" was very much a wrong place.
After the ball got rolling and things became real and eventually it all started, I was there as support behind the scenes, but as I said: Due to disagreements I had with the project leads vision and plans, I essentially just dipped out.
The project itself was a total failure so far, although I'm fairly certain if I had stayed involved their numbers would be at least triple of what they are now.

3) My main issue is that my twitter account has not the same name as my viewer account so it looks like my dms come from total strangers, so I usually avoid them because I understand randoms cant be trusted. Lots of crazy folk around it seems.
4) That sounds pretty fun. Switching personalitites too like Fubuki and Kurokami with the moon phases. I think this aspect of kayfabe has barely been explored. There is no need to stick to one character, plus it lets you keeps things fresh for both yourself and your audience.

Make test streams to an empty audience so you can get your tech sorted and a rhythm going, make a selfpost but don't expect anyone to come. Post a link when you go live and see if you catch any interest. Otherwise just show up to other streams and interact with other chuubas when you have the time. Network, do your reps, be humble. You'll never make it big unless through some freakish miracle, but you can make a couple friends and have fun probably.

I play 3S, Blazblue, Guilty Gear (most of them since ^c), Skullgirls, Killer Instinct, Marvel 2 and 3, UNICLR, Them's Fightin' Herds, Melty Blood, KoF 2k2, and Garou: Mark of the Wolves.

I also play pretty much anything else but those above are ones I put time and effort into in order to get 'meh' at. My favorites are 3S, Guilty Gear ^C +R, Garou, and Killer Instinct.

Consider the following:

If the stories from /auds/ is true, then someone with a design as simply as Symmakos' would have had no chance outside of here because no artist or rigger would take commissions outside of more common designs. Just having armor turns them away, wow! Mecha too. Monstergirls, horror too.

Imagine how many frustrated vtubers are out there that have to settle and would like another shot at their original, more creative idea. I bet a certain retired vtuber felt the same way with her wholesome plain design, and just went hog wild when she could finally go and make her crazy, off-putting design at the first chance.

In my opinion, both of you are wrong: What matters most in art is the meaning behind it and how well it can be gathered from the respective art.
Who cares if you created an intricate marble sculpture or painted a wonderfully abstract landscape if there's nothing else to it? If your art has no value beyond looks, it's shit regardless of category or individual taste.
However, if the sculpture teaches you the appeal of the human form and condition, and the abstract painting makes you question and reexamine (you)r life, then both is good.
Of course presentation is important to a degree, but it comes, as said before, second to any deeper meaning the piece of art has.
