In terms of numbers, it's very hard to replicate them. It basically came down to lots of luck and being on the radar almost everyday during the vtuber boom last year. But Honestly, Baelz and Sana have the qualities similar to marine and pekora. Just being a clone to them for the EN audience could guarantee 10k+ on normal streams after 6 months at the least. Sana being able to draw, banter, talk and game while Baelz being able to also talk and game too but unfortunately, they really like debuffing themselves for gods know what reason.

If most of your exposure to them is in threads like these, shitposters in hololive threads and the threads clearly meant to incite arguments in the catalog then I can see why you might think that. But if you go into a Nijisanji thread, besides maybe the /jp/ one which is extremely hostile to newfags for historical reasons, and talk about Nijisanji you are probably going to be quite welcome. Lurking the EN thread and the Niji spoonfeeding thread on this board I have seen plenty of newfags get helpful recommendations.
