Youtube has a broader audience and you're more likely to get sponsorship deals there. The twitch payout don't paint the whole picture. The twitch leak is only from twitch payout so if it included sponsorships you would see ones who do very little sponsored content like HasanAbi go down a good amount and ones who do it constantly like XqC and pretty much everyone else in the top 50 would be even higher.

That being said youtube monetization is absolute garbage especially on the lower end. You're just getting a lot more at the higher end and it's easier to get sponsored content and sell merch since it's a broader audience.

Twitch is roughly several hundred trillion times better for small indies niche community content (fighting games, vtubing, fig painting, tabletop streams, etc) since it allows beneficial audience sharing within that community.
If you want to be a variety facecam streamer youtube while focusing on short form content probably is better.

It's fun being able to faction banter with people, but based on my experience people aren't super picky about how much lore you know in painting streams. Personally most of my knowledge comes entirely from /tg/ osmosis which has done just fine.

There's so many I don't think I can pick one.... anything where the chuuba gets creative with it and does whatever they want, especially if it involves getting into or going on about something they love. Even if it's super scuffed it's pretty much always fun.

I've always thought a stargazing stream would be cool, and I've never seen anyone do it or mention it. You'd need to live in a remote area or have a mobile way of streaming to pull it off, though, so that limits the pool of people who can do it.

I doubt I'd ever buy anything off of one, but it's cool to see what people ask for. I'm surprised by how many people ask for food and commodities, I hope people aren't that hard up and that it's mostly just to have a cheap thing people can buy that they know will get used.

Having a bunch of friends to play games, eat snacks, and watch scary movies. One good thing about getting older is that the parties keep getting more chill, I don't need a day to recuperate afterward anymore

For the most part yes but some show promise. PC Building Simulator is the best I've played so far. Flipper Mechanic seems cool and Electrician Simulator has some promise. The ones that are open ended puzzles are pretty nice. I like games that are largely about diagnosis.

I had a blast at Woozle's "death" celebration to mark 192+ followers. Very creative, very funny, all around great time. He also did a really fun karaoke with great song choices that you don't hear many others singing on stream.

I like seeing large group efforts come together, especially if we can see some of the work that goes into them on stream. I'm coming up with plans to scratch that itch, given what I learned doing my last large project, and I think it'll be a really good time.

I also have an idea for a media share stream that I'd be curious if people would enjoy. I have a large record collection (1000+ records) and lots of different turntables. I can do a line out from a receiver into my PC, so I'm wondering if people would enjoy a listening party where I put on old records, and we chat about them. That might be too niche, but I think I'd like to try it.

I'm pretty indifferent, though the sudden ubiquity of Throne makes me wary of it. It's not something I personally feel the need to do. But I think it's nice that there are ways to fulfill wishlists with greater privacy, I know some people enjoy being able to buy something targeted or useful, rather than just donating.

Playing some classic spooky videogames on stream, and on Halloween day itself, in real life, passing out candy to any trick or treaters in my neighborhood. I've got my usual low effort Phantom of the Opera facemask and cape ready to go!

I was actually trying to do this with a few chuubas when I started... since Aria's theme was space and stars, I wanted to do it with her. I also would not be able to show the stars the way my eyes see them. :(

I still want to do that stream one day. I might just use one of the programs I found a long time ago, even if it was not to my liking, simply because I enjoy talking about constellations and exoplanets.

Ah, very true. I did not put food on my wishlist because any food they buy from amazon is going to be way marked up compared to my local food places that go on sale. But I can see why people do. I think it is a mixture of both, though... they are small things that will get used, but also commodities. Like socks, for example. Socks are something you need, but you never really bother buying because it feels weird to justify the cost. Same with things like blankets or shoes or even clothes. Little quality of life things that you always skip out on. It is hard to justify that to yourself when you could buy food instead and being cold or inconvenienced is temporary and cheaper.

I think IRL mixed streams are interesting. I watch a handful of different ones, music, figures, cooking, baking, card pack opening, etc the science streams S&B are doing are the most interesting to me and I'd be interested in seeing more.

I find wishlists in a bit of bad taste personally but maybe it's just how I grew up. Wishlists existing don't bother me really but I am uncomfortable with how suddenly nearly everyone has one from a company that didn't seem to exist a week ago.

Woozle's death stream was such a wacky little delight. I had no idea what to expect going in and it was fantastic.

I think a record listening party would be really enjoyable. Viewers love when you share your interests with them, and they get to throw in their experiences as well. As for large group efforts, they are always very impressive, but seem difficult to wrangle... I guess that is what makes the end product so great, though.

Heheheh, low effort or not, I love hearing people getting into the spirit of the season.

Hmm... Maybe not that I have never seen, but I really wish I could do a foraging stream. Like just go out and talk about the local wildlife and show people how to ID certain mushrooms and things. The company has existed for a long time, they just had a different name and only 2k users prior to the viral marketing strategy they have taken up recently. It is pretty shady, though, when you mention it. But I think Discord was in the same boat, being a no-name company from owners of failed businesses that blew up in popularity.

Howdy, ayy of the blanket. I'd wager that most of the organic discussions related to most of your questions tend to be flared up type events, rather than long-developed back-and-forths.

1a) First thing that comes to mind for "stream event" would be one of Bat's challenge runs, where there's a punishment game in effect and the chat can change the tide. The sheer volume of puttering around in her most recent Crystal challenge is my go-to. In that same flavor, Nyaru's 12-hour chat-interactable event. KIP MUD is burned into my brain at this point because of it, any mention of mud, kippers, or little blue finned critters start the infernal sound up again.
1b) Now, proposals for stream events... other than challenge type punishment games, the collaborative things like #CookForPin are great. If we could get more viewer-interactions in ways that don't require any particular specialized skills, say artistry or musical ability, that'd be nice. Your Fanfic Fridays are fabulous for this very reason, anyone can drabble out a ficlet if they have a keyboard.
2) Wishlists are an interesting subject. I don't have a dog in that race, in that I don't feel strongly that "it's e-begging and disgraceful" or "I want to know exactly what my dono-bucks are going to and am willing to pay mark-up for it." However, I understand that, in the donators' camp, that spectrum exists and is highly opinionated one way or the other. I'm going full Gondola and recognize the "validity" of both camps, in that some people will be turned off from donating by the concept of "e-begging", but be willing to donate absent the wishlist, and some people will be turned off by not knowing exactly what their donations will be used on, but be willing to donate only to the wishlist.
3) Family doing a thing tomorrow, handing out candy to visitors on Halloween proper. One of the myriad reasons that get-togethers happen is being taken full advantage of. Whoo.

I enjoy Picky's UrbEx streams a lot, a well as S&B's microscope streams. Honestly, S&B make me want to do more sciency things. I was going to try to go in that direction initially, but I had no way of doing it at the time (and not even now, really) so watching them is like watching my cooler older sisters I look up to a lot who are smarter and cooler than me.
I want weird streams that people would hate from a chuuba, like NileRed tier streams or hiking or cycling streams. I guess I like watching people who get out, but I understand it is impossible. I like things I can project on to or watch longingly.

I do not have any strong feelings on wishlists. I was already a Twitch facecam watcher before I got into vtubers and it is fairly normal to have wishlists as a facecam streamer. But I also understand people feeling weird about it and that is why I did not advertise mine. I just threw a few anthologies I have been wanting and left it alone.
I have no halloween plans...

There are telescopes over IP. Granted a lot of them are high-tier amateur setups to actual research telescopes that you have to pay per hour to rent and aren't necessarily for casuals to just look at stars.

I'd just opt for a planetarium program like Stellarium (free and open source) that would let you do a show and tell about astronomy.

Bat is a professional at these sort of things. The way she gameifies funding for her stream is insane. I wish I was as smart as her, but I would not even be sure of how to do something like that. I've recently realized that kayfabe is incredibly fun and entertaining. I don't know if I enjoy streams where someone just plays a game anymore for the most part. i made one to look at it from an opsec perspective mostly since i know people are going to get them because other people are and i want to make sure it's not just going to be a tonne of people getting burnt, theres a few people
but i don't see why the concept is suddenly blowing up with that one site
wishlists have been around basically forever at this point, and theres other services like meal delivery ones that seem comparable

i've already redone my model pretty recently without it being on screen much but I'm going to do a small update to it for compatibility and then do a whole bunch of experimentation with the new capabilities, in the end i might make a bunch of large changes but i'm more interested in using what i've learned to do even more things vroid should not be capable of
