If numbers don't matter, why does it matter so much to the vtubers themselves?
Numbers prove success, and success proves talent. Simple as. Not having numbers means... well, you can draw your own conclusions.

Just as with people on /vt/ the cuubas themselves vary in their caring of numbers.
There is a wide range between those like Gura - who don't care at all about numbers - and Pekora - who is actively trying to become the most watched streamer.
To say they are all of one mindset is stupid. And the importance of numbers is subjective.

Numbers do matter. But that doesn't mean you have to make a song and dance about it.

Numbers are everything to chubas and fad chasers.

As an entertainment seeker, I give zero fucks about numbers. I don't follow chubas with high numbers. I adopt lower view chubas as that catch my interest as my oshi of the month and then meme them into popularity. Queenmaking is the path of true patricians.

If you want to become famous, big, and popular vtuber then of course you need numbers, just take a look at Kiara on how she wanted so much attention and yet she has less attention than gura even though she didnt do anything big

It only matters to Ina and Kiara, the two least watched in all of holomyth.

Has Ina ever alluded to caring about her numbers?

Also have they even been that bad recently, from what I've seen shes been on a decent incline recently.

She has good ccv, which doesn't mean much unless it translates to vod views, which it doesn't. Her vods are among the least watched in myth

Caring about numbers is different from letting it define your entire life the way some of the schizos here make it out to be. Like how money is important but turning yourself into an asshole who has burnt all bridges and social connections for the sake of pelf is a bad way to live. Turns out people can treat things with moderation and not see it as binaries where you either have to be one extreme (numbers are the only signifier of value!) to another (numbers mean nothing at all!)

>> No.11807845

I didn't really think Vods would mean that much considering that ad revenue doesn't make up that much of her profits.

At the same time if you were a streamer you would care about your numbers (as it is your job) and you would want to know what content works.

>and success proves talent
my oshi has a lot of talents but it's mostly not related to vtubing field, plus she is doing quite well utilizing her relevant talents.
i'm sure numbers don't matter to her that much (or the need to ego seach)

Vod views matter a lot because it shows how many people are in their regular viewer pool. A percentage of that pool is where supas and memberships come from. I'm a member of Gura's channel but I hardly ever catch her live. You can look at the past week's total vod views and get a decent prediction for the current week's supas. Of course some chuubas have richer fans and get more supas per viewer, but vod views do matter a lot.

Interesting. Gura and Ina have the most views per supa donation dollar. Then in the total views Mori needs more views per supa dollar, maybe because she has so many MV views. Irys has a lot of rich bois watching her huh? Does she attract a lot of coomers?

Numbers only matter because our global economy is conditioned to push for growth (and growing growth) as the only measure of success.
If you grew 1% last year you must grow 1.5% this year or else you're a failure.
Would vtubing be better or worse if incomes (not necessarily numbers, but revenue through donations/memberships) were flattened so that you'd have a hundreds earning $100k a year, vs. just a few earning millions?

>> No.11825821

>>11812564
Still bringing up dead space 3 even though Gura already has more accrued more views on it pretty much after it ended and that 2 hr calculating barrier turned off? Not like it was a good game anyway so they didn't earn much from it. It was pretty clear there were stream issues and not streaming at her usual time hurt Gura. This also seems to be the case with Ina as well since her number for that Minecraft date with Lamy was lesser than what she usually does on her own. Compared that to Gura when she dated Shion in Minecraft and she got better numbers than usual when not streaming during her usual time. I think Shion also got better viewership than she usual did as well. Live viewers are important for the early views but they won't matter if the viewers who couldn't catch it live watch it later. This is the same for Kronii who has comparable sub growth to Gura but is missing the x-factor that would put her far ahead of Hakos who just streams more. Also, for the Ina incline, it sure didn't help her recently with the Talos Principle. The fickleness of audience, timing and what is being played still effect even the best streamers.

>>11812679
7 days don't mean much since there are times when they don't stream. 30 days is better and Kiara and Ina aren't that far off. Low live viewers can be made up with VOD views and good song views.
