When Aloe left to return and then returned as Triangle a lot of people followed her indie to support her. This showed the fans will follow you even if you had only 2 streams. Now there were tons of issues and Delta is not a very mentally strong person so she has not properly capitalized on this but it was very important.

Is this a meme? When i was watching the debut i thought that it looked poorly rigged. When i rewatched the debut some stuff even looked downright draft level.

Some of the really awkward this is the mouth rigging, it's really not up to sync and fires off random mouth shapes completely off with the spoken voice. The rigging is jello-like. mostly the illness of the rest of the body rather than the head. Its a cheap and fast way to get a sense of motion in the rig, but it really looks cheap, like the materials and shapes dont have the properties they are illustrated to have, the stuff that should be rigid, starts ungulating, the stuff that should be in motion looks no different than the misrigged riggid stuff, so its a confusing mush.

The art is another problem. The hand thats held up looks like its left in the sketch state. The folds of the pants arent converging to a crotch, and the squatting position is anatomically poorly calculate on the pelvic side.

Still its pretty nice shes doing something. Im sure these will be fixed eventually right? I mean shes not held back by management.

In the beginning, Hololive's 2D/3D live tech was one of the smoothest and best out there. In fact if you wanna go back all the way to Sora, it was one of the only ones out there. However Hololive has capitalized on their success and people now watch for the girls and only mildly complain if the model or rigging is shit. Having a bad model or terrible rigging doesn't hold you back as much if you're in Hololive, the best example being Gura who has gone over a year looking like this. Even Flare, who had an awful model on debut and is the least popular Gen 3, still rakes in a ton of superchats and is doing better than most indies and other corpos with much better models. The Hololive buff is strong.

That isn't really an accurate comparison. VTubers are, ultimately, content creators. Most people don't watch VTubers for their models. Heck, most people don't even watch VTubers for 3D concerts - they watch 3D concerts because their oshis attend those. L2D or 3D models are essentially the icing, not the cake. Ultimately, the most important part is how entertaining the chuubas are (which is more about their personalities, their interactions, and their ability to form a connection with their fans).
Thus, your comparison doesn't work. The buns, toppings and patties are all important part of the burger. If we are talking about L2D / 3D models, those are more like the package - sure, a beautiful package might help to attract people to some extent, but if the content is shit, most people wouldn't give the product their time of day. That's why most VTuber indies don't have the reach of Cover, because their content aren't anything particularly more interesting than Hololive's. On the other hand, even when packaged in some basic paper or plastic bags, if the food is good, the IP will remain popular. Idk if it was intentional or they just lucked out, but Cover made the good choice not to delve too hard into tech and neglect the more important part of the matter (i.e: looking for entertaining chuuba).

Far from it, but Hololive has become way too cautious and stingy in anything they do.
There is now much better 2D and 3D on the market, used by indies and bigger companies.
Their concerts really aren't anything worth talking about. It's just the same old background in a studio. Compared to some of the shit Kamitsubaki, Kizuna or even Riot pulls, it's embarrassing.
Also if (big if) some of the things said during the member streams is to be believed, than the contracts discourage merch and song production.
None of this is going to kill Cover, but it does make them less competitive in the future. Rather than die, I'd expect the company to stagnate and be overtaken.

no, hololive has a better casting process. but that casting was completed within a month. listen to any of the recent members from 5th, Myth, or Council, they have them work on details for 6+ months after being hired, before debut. Mostly it's just waiting for artist revisions and stuff that could have a way shorter turn around with a little cash. The REAL problem is they saw EN's pre-debut numbers and it took them 4 months to do a second audition, instead of opening it immediately after their debut. A lot of the struggles EN had were tied to having a limited capacity to collaborate with other members and not having enough people to actually make playing minecraft enjoyable to watch. This gives me a lot of relief. I know she wasn't the best friend of every single member of hololive, but I can absolutely see her helping almost any and all of them start as indies. Should any of them want to, or much more likely Cover "graduate" them. I was always worried they were kinda at the mercy of cover's shitty management, however I feel pretty confident that she would help them start again. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if we see more of them graduating in the next year or two to join her. Hololive's obviously starting to slip in popularity with EN2, if they don't change something soon... who knows what will happen...
