It sounds like you have a lot of passion for your oshi! That is a great thing.
Some chuubas do cooking, painting, or other kinds of streams IRL! I think it might be nice to know what the general boundary is, though I know most people think showing hands is an acceptable compromise between necessity and desire.

2) Personally I think VTubing is less when the person behind it reveals their flesh suit. It muddles the concept a bit and ruins my immersion. And immersion is the number one reason I watch VTubers. Yeah it's been about 3 years since I last painted a model. Most of my paints have dried out, especially the metallic ones, which makes me very sad. I transferred them all to dropper bottles specifically to keep them from drying but... I guess not even that can protect them from the flow of time.

This is because there is no VTuber community. At best you have big social circles on Twitter. There are hundreds if not thousands of VTubers out there you will never interact with. At this point, it's 'the brand'. Adding a voice isn't going to pull much in the way of new viewers, because everyone already knows who Zen is, if they're into indies.

But if the voice doesn't match up to what everyone wants, then Zen'd lose viewers. It's sensible to not add one at this point. But it would infuriate me in a collab.

Kill this idea immediately. Your discord is to consolidate your fanbase. Your hardcore fans will hang there, the ones who will stick by you. And you won't have any when you begin.

Your energy is much more useful being spent somewhere else. Get yourself a Twitter presence for one. Slide into QRTs and replies, make some TikTok or other clip content. Upload yourself singing. Anything.

Discord will not help you. It does not help growth. I have over 300 people on my Discord but maybe 10-15 generally active. Most join a discord for the emotes or to self-promote.
