In most cases they're at least reactive pngs, which means they have an idle png image and one for whenever they speak. Paperbag_ch is another one that comes to mind. He makes good use of this by using a png that matches the style of the game he's playing. Some like little_s go further beyond and hotkey different expressions to make the png even more lively. There's also johnny_jellyjaw, who uses gifs instead of png or something, so even though his avatar isn't rigged it still animates.

You can make multiple states with the program. One for normal, one for angry, one for happy, etc., each with their own talking and blinking PNGs, and you can set a hotkey to switch between them. You can also do OBS shortcuts to show/hide additional things, like a cum jar.

Depends on the execution, but in general I'd rank them most preferable to least as follows:
cinnamon roll > something else > gremlin > straight up trashy.
Cinnamon is usually genuine, which is something I highly value in any chuuba. Gremlins are a little overdone, but some do it well enough that it retains its charm. I'm not usually a fan of trashy chuubas, so it really depends on the individual. Shock value and cynicism doesn't entertain me, so if that's all they're going for I'll have to pass. Anything that doesn't fit in those categories is probably interesting enough to take a look at.
