They stopped giving the debut song an ad didn’t they?
I would think using an ad for the short would hurt it for a couple reasons:
1. Engagement to views ratio would be too low and this would cause YouTube to never recommend the short.
2. Cringe voice acting in a 5s ad would mean most people wouldn’t watch it just off that.

>> No.11360450

>>11360344
Yeah if they didn't give the song an ad I think it's clear they're pulling back on the investment a bit and probably don't think EN branch will ever come close to Niji JP branch now(or Holo EN). Which is a fair assessment after Niji EN's performance.

They won't give this an ad either, it's too low quality to draw in new people. Seems more like some funny stuff for people already invested.

>> No.11360736

>>11360344
Yeah. The new song's view counts seem to be a bit weird, though. It has only been four days so it's hard to say, but it has been gaining similar amount of views everyday while most songs (from both Niji, Holo and other groups) tend to start dropping off after release. The engagement level seem to be dropping off normally, though, so maybe it's just a lot of Niji fans having it on repeat or something

I'm always curious about what the true viewership of the EN branches is like since the youtube ccv change happened shortly after HoloEN dropped. We saw a few months of myth but the data could be somewhat skewed because of debut buff and general curiosity. Assuming adblockers affect view count, a quick google search gives a number around 25-26% of users in the US are using an adblocker. That number is probably higher among the vtuber audience.

They got some top composers for them but the MVs couldn't have been that much. I don't know how to calculate how much ads were accurately but it wasn't too much, $2k per 100k views or clicks. I don't think Anycolor lost much on ads. It is interesting to note they didn't have ads for Ethyria's song. I am not sure the ads cost too much must have cost. Ethyria's is sitting at 418k views. Their song also seems to have a better engagement per viewer ratio.

I do find it suspicious the company's name changed from いちから(One Color) to Anycolor on the same day Lazu Light debuted. I will note most JP Niji fans were not expecting HoloEN numbers. You only saw the "disappointment" in Niji anti threads.

In total views they have 23.7 million, dunno how many of those were for monetized videos or what their rate would be.
In merch they have x, with a Niji cut of y. I don't know how much NijiEN has pushed so far.

Was NijiEN a success so far? I can't tell. Did it hit expectations? I can't tell. Did they expect NijiEN to boost NijiJP? I sure hope not. Too many unknowns, I don't think we can be fair or accurate. That’s about it but if NijiJP weren’t so stubbornly insular a single event like this hosted by EN feat. (let’s say) Mito or Ibrahim (if they don’t want to pull the big Chronoir guns out right away) they could funnel some of their JP audience there.

That’s the whole point of UMISEA, for instance.

I'm still apprehensive about that line of thinking. It kinda feels that Nijisanji never really cultivated cultural cross-pollination between their international branches so NijiJP fans were never conditioned to really recognize ID,IN(RIP),VR, and EN as anything other than sideshows at best. Bora who's Niji's best international talent is only in her position because she not only caters to APEX autist but she speaks in JP all the time that if you didn't know better you'd think she was part of the main branch. I'm glad that NijiEN is at least trying to do boxpushing strats with their ID and KR branches but since their cap is only 6-7k, it doesn't really raise their profile that much.

You can't say NijiJP doesn't try to interact with overseas branches, because some like Mayuzumi and Kanae do try (this wasn't single POV tho).
https://playboard.co/en/video/r1GPZVcMrTg

The majority of NijiJPs already have too many JP colleagues to collab with so overseas is probably low on the priority list.
Unless you mean company-enforced international collabs, which are honestly lame as fuck.

It's just out of character for Nijis with heavily JOP audiences (Kuzuha, Ib) to shill NijiEN and that's before going into how useful is it actually to funnel JP viewers to an EN vtuber.
You can increase their recognition amongst the JP audience, but the number of JPs that will watch actually watch an EN consistently is small considering they have 100+ NijiJPs to pick from already.

With Umisea, it wasn't so much cross-promotion, but moreso we can finally see popular EN Holos we like interact with popular JP Holos we like.
Every holofan (well maybe not super casual chumbuds) knows who everyone in Umisea is already.

No doubt, I don't think anyone argues that overseas branches are ever a negative even if the some of the numbers are really bad.
It's cheap and you gain a potential new market.

Imo, one of the main differences between Holo and Niji's collabs with international branches is the impression the JP viewers have on these branches.
Niji overseas branches are <1000 CCV for most part and NijiEN is like low to mid-tier NijiJP, so they're viewed as cute "little brother/little sister" branches that the JP branch is boosting.
HoloID is kind of like that too, but HoloEN is treated like this mythical international celebrity branch by JP members.
Just look at how they acted like they saw a celebrity when they finally met Gura during Usaken fes and how many of them were wow-ed by HoloEN smashing sub milestones. "Kari-chan kakkoii" is not a meme to them.
That excitement from them radiates to their viewers, which generates overall hype for international interactions.

Baelz canceled her last streams due to bad internet and headache

Mumei is too busy and probably will not stream this week

Sana is taking a brake

Kronii will do just more 2 streams this week, with a 2-day break in between

Fauna is the only with a decent schedule, she will more 4 streams this week

Cursed, council is.
Imagine if this happened to Myth and there was no second gen to cover (It's happened before iirc with people on vacation and whatnot resulting in some days with no streams)

Wow. Burnt out in a month. Welcome to covercorp.

Lazy bitches. Myth went hard in the first 6 months.

Meanwhile Myth never really got a break until Council debut.
Kiara mentioned that even when they're on break they're kinda expected to respond to discord notifications and whatnot.

They really deserved being called the pillars of HoloEN. Had Myth been lazy, then not even the rising popularity of Korone/FBK/Aqua/Peko/Coco could've saved them.

Props to Council tho, they're actually good streamers and not all of them are lazy (Sana and Bae are hardworkers).

bunch of lazy whores they literally mirror HoloJP gen 2, all lazy. Except the Minato Aqua equivalent is actually in NijiEN wave 2.

Is Selen really comparable to Aqua though. Or a mini-Aqua I guess.

Sana is the worst offender. Literally coasting off Myth's hard work and Ina's nepotism hire. Can't produce numbers, goes on break 1 month in.

Not even close. Aqua at her best can go toe-to-toe and even surpass. Nijisanjis best, hence the term Nijikiller. Selen or anyone in NijiEn can't even beat Ames supasunday numbers

Unfortunately, probably never going to happen.
Valve didn't protect Kuku last time and sided with Chinks, ended up kicking the poor immature guy off a big tournament and almost ruined his career. Do you really think they'd do better when Chinks predictably scream out against Hololive?

As others said, there are overlapping streams now. Her stream was only at 7.2k when there wasn't any other Holo or Niji streams around. It dropped to 6.5k when Ina started, then dropped further after Pomu started (didn't check if her number increased when Ina ended her stream). There are a bunch of streams going on now, so it's understandable that it dropped to 5.6k
