Is the "market saturated" meme actually true or is it just your average shizo ramble? What makes you think that it's anymore saturated than normal streaming? Aren't views declining simply because Covid ended? Vtubing isn't the only industry affected by this "decline".

If numbers don't show a continuous upward trend with new peaks at regular intervals it means that the market has stopped growing, and if numbers begin to decline it means that either the market is shrinking or that it is oversaturated to the point that everyone is cannibalising each other's audience.

It's schizo rambling, imagine being upset that there are more options out there to watch. And if they only watch their oshi then whatever is happening to the market should hardly matter.

A thread was already made about this yesterday. Consult the numberfags. They got data to extrapolate saturation point.

>"market saturated"
Just means its no longer a free ride. If you want to succeed you have to be unique, be business savy and be willing to take risks.

Why is it schizo rambling?

Good idea anon, I will, thanks.

It's schizo rambling. People have been shouting "market saturation" since 2018 and the only thing that's been happening is constant growth and audience size expansion. We're far from reaching the market cap when the potential audience size is orders of magnitude greater than the current audience size.

The thing is, I can't really understand what you guys are talking about when you're talking about markets. Do you see the vtubing market as one big entity or do you see it as separated clusters (JP, Western, etc.)? Are the numbers stopped in the West only? Is there still potential for the west?

>> No.10762479

At the very top yes. However theres a lot of room to grow in the middlem forninstance my 2view has gone from no viewers, to 5 to ten to 25 to 50 this month alone. It's a grind when you dont have a brand but there really is a demand.

I wouldn't split markets based on region, because there is observable crossover with JPs watching ENs and westerners watching JPs and so on. There are some concrete barriers like merchandise and live concerts not being available outside of Japan but that's more about opportunity than interest. The only metrics we have to measure global interest in vtubing are looking at the highest values for categories that track unique instances like subscribers, live viewers or to an extent things like merchandise sales.

If the market was oversaturated all the biggest vtubers would be declining heavily as thousands of vtubers debut, yet they're increasing and only getting more and more popular, interesting isn't it.
